OK I'm taking World Lit 1 this semester. We had our first test 2 weeks ago and it was multiple choice as well as true/false. Well we used scan trons and I didn't realize that she wanted us to answer the true/false on the scan tron, I didn't even know you could do true/false on scan trons because I hadn't had a test like that before. So I ended up filling in the blanks on the test but didn't put it on the scan tron.
So today my professor tells me to come up and talk to her, she tells me I didn't fill in the scan tron for that part so I needed to do that after class. Which was fine with me. So I met her upstairs where she told me to meet her and she told me to come into her next class and GET THIS...
She didn't have my test, she wanted me to RE-DO the true/false part! ALSO, instead of having me do it downstairs in the humanities office as everyone does when they re-take test, she made me sit in the front row of her class and re-take that section of the test (TWENTY QUESTIONS which is the difference between passing or not passing) while everyone behind me in her class was talking as loud as they could before class started.
I was so frustrated and angry, I tried asking her if I could just go take it downstairs in the humanities office and leave it there but she said "no that's OK, you can just take it here." Then I tried to tell her that it was hard for me to focus because all 30 of her students were talking and I couldn't hear myself think and she just totally blew that off.
So first off all where in the world is my original test? Second of all, why in the world did she sit me in her class to re-take that portion of my test? I know I did horrible because she was talking so loud everyone knew what I was doing and I was so embarrassed and I was so mad I couldn't even think to re-take it.
What do you guys think about this? Has this ever happened to you?
I went to the dean but she basically said she will email my professor but if she lost my test, what's done is done. I think that is ridiculous, I think they should let me re-take that portion in the humanities office in a more quiet environment. She said I could appeal my grade in the class if I feel this effected me then but why not take care of it now? An appeal doesn't even mean I would get it changed anyway.
