  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What do you think of this story......

Yes it does. Less thought out and less considerate. I am not going to argue with you Mallory. You've given your opinion, now let's let others give theirs.

It's great of course that the little girl found her way out of the woods and is safe. Something about her little "helper" is a little bit creepy to me. I know nothing in the Bible of dead people coming back to earth to help the living. I suppose angels could take on many forms--I don't know much about angels. I tend to think of angels as big strong beings who could fight in a battle, not little girly beings. I just don't know. I can conclude though that it is a good thing that the little girl is safely out of the woods. God can be thanked for that in any case!

Like as though Jesus rebuked his disciples for being superstitious and believing in ghosts... Rather, he simply reassured them that they were not seeing a ghost. Whether real or not, when the Bible refers to ghosts, it makes no mention that believing in their existence is mere superstition.

Weird thing is, when the girl was describing what her imaginary friend was like, it turned out the girl she described was a 4 year old girl that had previously died in the woods.

Adults have such imaginations! It's unlikely that the little girl could have described her imaginary friend in such detail that she could be definitely identified as a specific child like that. It's more likely that she described her in genreal terms like, "She had blonde hair and a blue dress," and that kind of description could apply to any imaginary friend. It's probably the adults who filled in the gaps and made the imaginary friend into the dead girl.

I remember once I saw an apparition, and described her to my mom, who then discussed it with my grandma, and so on with all the relatives, and they decided that I had seen my great grandma who had just passed away, and they took me to the funeral home to see if it was the same woman, and I wanted to please them so much that I said it was, but it wasn't.

Kids are notoriuous for that.

That is EXACTLY, EXACTLY what I said. And people got mad. I'll wait and see how many people get mad at lambslove for the same thing they got mad at me for.

No Mallory, this is NOT exactly what you said. What you said was, "This is bullcrap". If you can't see the difference between your response and Lambslove's response, then I am very sorry.
For someody who's "not going to argue with me" you sure seem to be arguing with me.
No..that is not arguing. And no public disagreements with staff members, Mallory.

What I said was , and I quote:

cough* bullcrap *cough*

If this even happened (now I'm not calling you a liar, I'm calling whoever reported it a liar), which I doubt, since this is typical urban legend material, I bet the girl was just describing a typical girl "she had shoulder-length blond hair and pretty blue eyes and loved bunnies and cookies" and people were like, "oh my god that fits the description of the girl who died!!!!"

Which is exactly what lambslove said, except I used the word "bullcrap", may god have mercy on my soul.
