I think it really matters what context they are using the word(s) in.

For example, in Relient K's new song "Forgiven", they use d*** in the proper sense that it's supposed to be in.

But still, it may be a stumbling block to some people, so I'm not quite sure whether it's "right" or "wrong" to have those words in there.

I think it's wrong to cuss in Christian songs, that makes new Christians who used to cuss think that it's OK to still cuss, when the Bible clearly says it's not OK to cuss. In the Relient K song, like EJXSD said, they use it in the proper way to say it, and they use that word in the Bible to "And they shall be d*****..." or something like that. I don't know an exact verse, but my pastor at my church was preaching a few weeks ago and read a verse that said that or something like that. My opinion, you should not be cussing in Christian songs espicially. That gives Christians a bad name when they cuss in their songs

My opinion: it's wrong, and the basis of my argument has already been repeated in this topic. Whether it's wrong or not, though, this is English, the language with arguably the richest vocabulary of any language. If a "four-letter word" is the best you can find to explain a concept, go grab a thesaurus. You'll find something better. Same applies for the few five, three, or six letter words, and morphological variants (like -ing, -er, etc.) of them.

However, the d-word as Relient K used it in Forgeven is used in the same manner as it is in some translations of the Bible (KJV comes to mind), and I'm pretty sure few people are going to condemn the Bible for cursing.

Man, I think I'll take part in the standardized test for the English philology minor program again this summer, after all...
