  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

To someone who feels like they are "slipping" in their walk with Christ. They say that they want to read and
study God's word but feel clueless when picking up the bible. They aren't involved in church other than sunday attendance due to insecurities and aren't even good at praying half the time. They have said that they desperately want to be on fire but don't have any idea how to be. I sense despression, by the way, due to this issue. I want to give good Christian advice. Please, you mature christians out there, help!!

God Bless,
YSIC.

hmm... well it is very possibly that they are slipping. really all you can do is keep encouraging then to read their Bible and to continue to pray. also what type of Bible is it? i mean if it is a KJ version then yea that gets confusing. a good type is NKJ it is (for me) easy to read. also try NIV(there is no thy or thee or that stuff) very easy to read. about the "not praying well" you cant really say that they dont pray bad they could pray differently or they dont know how to. so yea that is all i can think of right now....

Hi
I would encourage them to start in the Gospel of John in a version they can understand. I found the NKJV and NIV helpful. I strongly suggest they read "So Great Salvation' by Charles Ryrie.
GOD BLESS
