Assuming for a minute that homosexuality is an abomination, what do the anti-gays on this board suggest we do about it?

Are we no longer abominations when we don't act upon our homosexual urges, but still maintain our sexual preference?

If so, how do you suggest we deny our own thoughts and feelings?

Are we just total lost causes?

How do we 'Fix' our homosexuality?

I'd be very interested to hear theories on this one.

Most likely...But I am interested to know. I wouldn't have started a new thread on this, but I've been getting in trouble for going off topic.

People like to bleat about this and that being wrong, but often they are reluctant to provide a suggestion as to a plausable solution.

Relax, it's not an abomination.

Ignore them, they're deceived.

of course its an abomination! Thats why the evil homo agenda-ists want to convert children!

Tell me about it!
My sister came home the other day dressed in a flannel shirt and upon questioning she told me that some nice man had given her a copy of Gay Agenda Weekly.

Another lost soul...dammit.

Lunar Plexus, gay people - well, gay people are evil. Evil right down to their cold black hearts, which pump not blood like yours and mine, but rather a thick vomitous oil that oozes through their rotten veins and clots in their pea-sized brains, which becomes the cause of their Naziesque patterns of violent behaviour. Do you understand?

I'd be very interested to hear theories on this one.

Antigays? First let me suggest that as much as the gay people on this board preach about being hated by Christians that you stop calling people names.

As to what you should do about it, let me tell you what God says. This is not a suggestion, but what should be done with ALL sin.

The Bible says in John 12:24-26 "Verily, Verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal."

You have got to die to yourself and the sinful desires of the flesh and live as Christ intended.

He told His disciples to drop what they were doing and follow Him. That's what anyone mired in sin has to do. You have to be willing to lay down what you want and do what HE SAYS.

Are we no longer abominations when we don't act upon our homosexual urges, but still maintain our sexual preference?

Sexual preference is not mentioned by God as a sin. The sin is disobedience in doing that which HE say to not do. The same applies for heterosexuals.

If so, how do you suggest we deny our own thoughts and feelings?

The same way that He directs every Christian. The Bible says in 2 Cor. 10:3-5 3For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ

Are we just total lost causes?

As God does not desire that any perish but that all be saved, the answer is a resounding NO. He gave His Son in our place so that we would not be a lost cause. But we must proceed through the blood-stained banner of Jesus Christ.

We mist love Him with every thing that we are. And that love demands our obedience to His inerrant Word. Being human, we may not be able to keep every command, but being indwelled by the Holy SPirit, we are driven to repentance of those things that He tells us are sin.

How do we 'Fix' our homosexuality

By havaing no gods before GOD. Many have made their desire for these homosexual relationships their god and have effectively placed these relationships before obedience to GOD.

We are of course expected to abandon homosexuality entirely. We need to abandon our partners regardless of how long we've been with them and give up all hope of romance that all the clean, nice hetrosexuals are allowed to have. We are to live surrounded by self guilt and to come down incredibly hard on ourselves if we even look at a member of the same-sex and find them attractive, we are to surrender ourselves to lonely celibacy.

Of course this is all easy for us to do as we apparently don't have feelings like "Normal" people.

/sarcasm off

No christian hates gay people like the Lord we just hate the sin.
We hope for their sakes that they will stop sinning and turn to the Word of God.
If one lies, one should repent of their sin and lie no more.
If someone coverts their neighbours wife they should repent and do it no more.
Just as homosexuals must repent of their sin and must stop having homosexual thoughts and commit homosexual acts any more.
God teaches us about sin by his word.
Like most sinners it is very hard to shake the habit but we must try even though we are imperfect in sin.
Only the Lord can judge us in sin because he is perfect.
Christians cannot judge sinners,Jesus taught those who were going to stone the Prostitute.
Jesus said ` Those of you without sin cast the first stone`.
No one condemed her and she left and sinned no more.

Saying homosexuals are sinners is judging.

If someone is naturally gay how do you propose they stop finding the same-sex attractive?

Are these "clean, nice heterosexuals" married? If they're not God is torqued at them too for they are committing adultery and that is not a sin that God takes lightly, just because they, like you, are in a loving committed relationship. There is no free pass for heterosexuals. They commit just as much sexual immorality as the homosexuals do, if not more, because there are more of them doing it.

I don't think they can. Just like heterosexuals can't stop finding people of the opposite sex attractive. It's what you do in response to that attraction that is the key here. Do you act upon it in a sinful way? Just thinking about sex with someone is committing adultery. Jesus said this in Matthew 5:27-28. Everyone who is a Christian must deny themselves and take up their cross, whatever that may be, and follow after Jesus. It's not easy. Anyone who thinks that being a Christian is easy, has never read the New Testament. It's a life of constant, daily denial of self. That isn't easy for anybody regardless of sexual orientation. But with the power of Jesus working in us and in our lives, we shall overcome our obstacles and stumbling blocks, whatever they may be.
