  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What do you most enjoy?

This one's for the more experienced Christians out there. I was raised with Christian beliefs, however I consider myself a new Christian because I've just recently dedicated myself truly, after spending some time wandering.

So to my question (or rather, questions): What do you most enjoy about your life as a Christian? What kind of things has the Lord showed you throughout your walk? What kind of experiences have you had with the Holy Sprit? Any comments are welcome!

I am also a newly rededicated Christian! Right now I am enjoying my new understanding of being a Christian! God has showed me the difference between Religion and Relationship. Before I was trying to be religious, now I know that having a relationship with God is what I need! I also see that being a Christian is not about following rules, but about thinking of others first, striving to be Christ-like, and having a relationship with God. I know I can't go around gossiping, having unforgiveness in my heart, stealing, ect., but I don't want to be that way. I want to make my Father happy, I want to be a blessing to others, and I want to have that relationship with my Father. When I wake up in the morning, I spend time alone with the Lord. I pray, read my Bible, and I am also reading a book by Elizabeth George called A Woman After God's Own Heart (great book that the Holy Spirit led me to)! I hope this answered your questions...great thread!

When you become a disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ, then your life is rewarding when you see a ray of sunrise rise from a new born again Christian who has been plagued with so much unforgiveness, being set free from the clutches of those seducing and deceiving spirits that abound within the Christian World.

Being His disciple isn't any easy walk, Paul and all His disciples didn't have it easy. It wasn't all rosy and nice.

Being His disciple is life-threatening at times.

I came to our Lord first off in 1957, and saw the real light and the task set before me by our Lord Jesus Christ in 1991. So I wandered for 34 years before I saw our real Almighty God. I'm 70 now!

If I was to share the incredible experiences I had with the Holy Spirt, spectacular and sensational signs and wonders, the pastor would probably say, "What an interesting story!"

So let me give you some advice, personal experience of things of the Bible can lead you down a track of destruction if you haven't any substance to your stories, that is, testomonies.

Now if you have no foundation, then all your experience that you have will lead you into error, but on the other hand, His Word without any personal experience will have you doubting.

Alway remember that to have experience, you have to make bad and good choices and decisions, but make sure you build on foundation. You never leave good teaching of His Word, nor a strong body of faith and doctrine.

Attempting to major an function on one specific thing, such as the Spirit, the Blood, the Word, then you will become spooky, hard, and legalistic, and without foundation you will be floating around in error.

I enjoy that our Lord saves us 100%. We don't contribute to that in any way. I enjoy that he leads me to worship, giving me His gifts and in return I give praise and thanksgiving. I enjoy that He works through me to do good works. I enjoy that I no longer have to rely on myself, but on Him.

The thing I enjoy most about my Christian life is that I always have someone there, and I always know whatever tough situation is going on, I will get through it. God does not give me anything I cannot handle. I also love everything he gives me... especially the people surrounding me.

Jesus has shown me a lot of things in my walk. He has shown me to not let people bring me down... no matter what. Turn the other cheek and just keep on living. He has taught me that everything happens for a reason. Regret nothing.

I have had so many experiences with the Holy Spirit. Every prayer answered is an experience...and there are a lot of prayers answered. ;)

What do I most enjoy???? I enjoy being loved by a mighty and powerful God. I enjoy being free and no longer being a slave to sin. I rejoice in the fact that I have been given eternal life and I will live with Christ for all eternity. My life is whole, full and joyful. God has showed me that nothing is impossible with Him.

Thank you for this topic today.

What I enjoy the most is knowing that even in the most difficult times in my life, God is still there. When I feel that all hope is lost, God would encourage me and give me comfort whether through someone else or just through reading a verse.

Thanks for all the responses! I agree with you all. I understand that being a Christian doesn't guarantee an easy life, but thankfully I can get through my struggles now with hope.

I love knowing that life has a purpose. Now, I cannot imagine living without God. I'm excited to be able to go about life with a different view, and to hopefully encourage others to turn to the Lord as well.

Thanks for the responses and keep 'em coming..
