It means nothing. Biblical Christianity is not a matter of buildings, institutions or statues.
We don't mind if it collapses and is rebuild again. Yet many bow down to statues of Jesus and pray to it! It should be a lesson that we must not make statues of anything to any who do. Muslims and Christians alike must not make any images/statues of worship!!Same thing you probably would make of this:
After heavy rains and flooding in 1629, the walls of the Kaaba collapsed and the Mosque was damaged. The same year, during the reign of Ottoman Emperor Murad IV, the Kaaba was rebuilt with granite stones from Mecca, and the Mosque was renovated.
Keep in mind we don’t say statues are the house of Jesus Christ, yet the Kaaba the which is the house of Allah, collapsed? Your once more trying to provoke people on these forums.
Many bow down to the Kaaba, we don’t worship the statue of Jesus so we don’t care if it collapses or not, it’s merely an image representing Jesus, it’s not a god or an image of worship. So we don’t mind how many get knocked down or broken, it’s not something divine or special. However the Kaaba is the house of Allah. We don't mind if it collapses and is rebuild again. Yet many bow down to statues of Jesus and pray to it! It should be a lesson that we must not make statues of anything to any who do. Muslims and Christians alike must not make any images/statues of worship!!
Maybe you don't but many Catholics do pray to the statue and prostrate and bow down to it ! Are you saying no one does that?My point is, the statue isn’t divine, therefore we don’t care if it breaks or gets burned.
Catholics along with Orthodox venerate images, we don’t regard them as divine though, so even if something happens to them, we don’t care. Japanese bow and prostrate as a sign of respect, we do the same to icons and statues. There’s no worship going on.Maybe you don't but many Catholics do pray to the statue and prostrate and bow down to it ! Are you saying no one does that?
But why make them. God in his infinite wisdom said not to make images but why use our human logic to tell God your wisdom is better than his?Catholics along with Orthodox venerate images, we don’t regard them as divine though, so even if something happens to them, we don’t care. We believe God said to make images for veneration as in the case of the Cherubim, your god in his infinite un wisdom makes you worship in iconoclasm, which is why many Muslims turn to different and make deviant practices to try to lighten things up. God in his infinite wisdom allows us to make images of holy people and how he revealed himself to us.But why make them. God in his infinite wisdom said not to make images but why use our human logic to tell God your wisdom is better than his?
Why is it you resort to old tactics which is when you have no good answer you resort to attacking? Since we are discussing images made by Catholics let's stick to it. You said you can make images! What verse gives you the permission? We believe God said to make images for veneration as in the case of the Cherubim, your god in his infinite un wisdom makes you worship in iconoclasm, which is why many Muslims turn to different and make deviant practices to try to lighten things up. I’m not attacking, if that’s attacking you must really be a sensitive person. This verse gives me my permission:Why is it you resort to old tactics which is when you have no good answer you resort to attacking? How is it me who is sensitive when I asked you a question and you turned to insults?I’m not attacking, if that’s attacking you must really be a sensitive person. This verse gives me my permission:
Bible Gateway passage: Exodus 25:18 - New King James Version
I don’t remember ever using insults, insults are derogatory terms which I never used. I merely pointed that Islam which makes worship very dull, prompts Muslims to seek out more deviant ways (according to their religion) to please their own spiritual hunger. Yes, the Ark had images on it and the Israelites would venerate them as we do with icons or statues. The Old Testament says not to make images of which are used for idol worship, which are graven images, it doesn’t say we cannot make images in general. I never said we don’t follow the Old Testament in general, we just don’t follow its punishment or dietary laws, however we believe in its commandments. To accept Christ as savior you must also believe what he said, meaning you must follow his commandments. If you say you accept Christ as savior while doing whatever you want then you haven’t really accepted him as savior now have you? I believe your describing Islam, since in Islam all you have to do is believe in Shahada then you may do as you please as eventually you will reach heaven no matter how horrendous your crimes or sins. How is it me who is sensitive when I asked you a question and you turned to insults?
I read the context and its speaking about building the arc. You want to make images of God out of your wisdom then feel free. Anyway it makes little sense since its in OT and you are not supposed to follow any of it! You just need to accept Christ as saviour and then you are free to do what you want!

& No. You have lied about Islam and also your religion. I may highlight what Catholics do and what pagans did but I can't do that here. Let's continue. The verse says:your god in his infinite un wisdom
The verse actually says graven images not just any images, the distinction is important. Graven images are images of idol worship, if God wanted no images in general then he’d be a liar for commanding Moses to make images of the Angels in heaven on the Ark. Yes, images of idol worship are forbidden, images in general are permissible. As God commanded images be made on the Ark, so we know the difference between graven images and images of veneration such as the angels on the Ark.Here is what you said
& No. You have lied about Islam and also your religion. I may highlight what Catholics do and what pagans did but I can't do that here. Let's continue. The verse says:
"You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
Exodus 20:4
But you still make idols and images of what's in heaven above(since you consider Jesus is in heaven above)! You are challenging your God implying that you know better than him by making images of him when he commanded you not to.
Is the statue of Jesus not a graven image? The verse actually says graven images not just any images, the distinction is important. Your false beliefs keep piling up. No one bows and worships an image or statue in Chritianity. They worship the living God who is Jesus. We don't mind if it collapses and is rebuild again. Yet many bow down to statues of Jesus and pray to it! It should be a lesson that we must not make statues of anything to any who do. Muslims and Christians alike must not make any images/statues of worship!!
