I suppose the only way of truly knowing is seeing him in action - he's been at it 25 years..and he has NO bad press anywhere. (normally the heresy hunters jump on someone a bit dodgy).

Its just, well, do you realize that the $595 is all profit for him? The work is done, and hosting is not costly. He's making a killing offering something that the Spirit will teach for free :-/

He has to fund his travelling like any other evangelist does I suppose. Just like selling books. We can't muzzle the ox forever, and those who PREACH it full time, deserve some support surely. This is one way he can, without begging every 5 minutes.

Thankfully I can use search engines and all they pick up are continual self publisement that interlinks between the same sites.
Also, and most tellingly, no-one independant of him saying anything good. No indication of any independantly verifiable qualifications or thesis on the likes of EBSCO and similar academic sources either and there should be for someone who claims to be able to provide a 'doctorate' qualification.

Don't take a lack of negative comments as a validation. The reason no one's called him out is because no one has ever heard of him. He's a complete unknown who's just introduced himself to a larger audience using the internet. I think this guy just created an image and launched a website and even created a history to give himself to perception of credibility.

Nothing wrong with being unknown, I'm sure there are thousands of others doing the real work of the Lord, who don't have good PR. (and thats not their goal) Know loads with good PR and lots of them are jokers.

Just got done checking out this guy's self-proclaimed radio show . . . it's just an internet audio blog, no radio itself. He puts together this cheesy broadcast and attaches it to youtube and blogradio and then calls that his international radio show. Has con man written all over it. Taking advantage of the gullible few.

Dude, you're being gullible here. I'm trying to help, honestly. This character has con job written all over him. With all the self-promotion he has on the internet, he's not shying away from PR, he's doing his best to create it. But not a single mention from any church that's been impacted by him or minister who recommends him, in 25 yrs? Come on. Wake up. Even his classes are online seminars. You seem like someone on the right path in your walk with the Lord; I'd hate to see you suckered in by this guy.

I agree. The lack of negative comments serves as NO validation of anything ... except a lack of PUBLIC negative comments, for whatever the reason may be.
The lack of public negative comments does NOT serve as validation of a sound ministry. To think so, would be naive. And when deceived and taken advantage of, naive people hurt in many the same ways, and possibly even more, as those that are not naive. Naivety does not protect us.

I have some concerns about this, too.
It is not only those that choose to do evil, get into the occult, etc., that can later find themselves with demonic 'problems'.
So can well meaning, sincere Christians end up with demonic problems ... for unknowingly 'opening' themselves up to something that proves to be spiritually 'unsound'.
We are told to 'test the spirits'. We really need to be very discerning these days ... if we want to avoid spiritual troubles.

True - in this case, though, he would be knowingly opening himself up to demonic infestations since he's now been warned. Although in this case, now that I've been checking into this guy, I think he's less voodoo surgeon and more con man. Hard to find much on him, but he seems to be along the lines of a Bob Larson wannabe, someone who I knew years ago and have no respect for.

Interesting time checking into a few things. Went to Bartlett's calendar of ministry events and after checking over a dozen events, can't confirm a single one ever happened. Go to online calendar of the churches he claims to be ministering at and none of them have him listed. One series was particularly fantastic . . . he states that he's ministering in Ausralia for a few weeks, then a few nights later in British Columbia, and 2 nights later in New Zealand . . . as if that makes any sense at all. I think the majority of this guy is fake.

Just a word of caution on the method of validating a ministry...
if he is called and used of God, we need to tread lightly on the critical remarks made about him...
if he is not called and used of God, but is a charlatan, heretic, or whatever, his doctrines and teachings will prove to be incongruent with the Scriptures teaching...
so... I recommend finding out what he teaches, and see if it harmonizes with what the Word of God teaches... if it does not, you reject the doctrines, and pray for his soul...
if it does, then you do not need to be fearful of the course..
the attacking by person, by innuendo, by inference, by possibility, by similarity in some way to how some other did this or that... is dangerous...
It is fine to attack false teaching, but to attack a person, not knowing whether he teaches false things or not, is risky in one's relationship with the Lord...
what does this man, Jay Bartlett, teach incorrectly, heretically, or errantly? if you can't answer.. find out... before you sign up for a course...
from the titles of the lessons, I have some questions on the teachings... am hesitant enough that I would not spend a penny on it till I verified what the teachings are...

I agree. My main concern is paying for the courses. Something Godly should be offered to those who have a desire for it.
I just read his about page, he says he is teaching about how to drive out demons, heal the sick, and raise the dead. Personally, I feel all that needs to be learned regarding those things is in Scripture. Why pay to learn something that God can teach a willing spirit?

He teaches how to do spiritual surgery to remove animal parts from humans which are the cause of physical problems . . . this is known in the occult world as psychic surgery. 'Nuff said. That's all I need to call him out. I did that first before launching my first criticism.

Sadly (I guess), even though I am in the process of reconfiguring my i7 PC to run my operating systems on VMWare ESXi Bare-Metal HyperVisor, all I really know about Nintendo and PlayStation is with their names and nothing else!You should be able to buy one for Super Nintendo sometime next year. Sorry, but if all you've got is NES then you need to upgrade your system!
