What do you like about.....

This thread is loosely based off of a book title some of you may have seen. What do you like about different churches?

Just a few off the top of my head:

a. Eastern Orthodox--they have a strong emphasis on their history and the examples of the faith that have come before them. They also emphasize growing in the spiritual life.

b. Adventists. They stress faith being an integral part of life and many members reflect this.

Messianics: They are trying to follow Yeshua and not man (That's me, so I may be biased. )

SDA's: They stress health as it relates to what God gave them.

Presbyterians: For their loyal participation in pot-lucks.

Methodists: For their hymns.

Reformed Baptists and Presbies: For their enphasis on God's soverignty and grace.

Nazarenes - The pursuing of a holy life as exampled by Christ; and their acceptance of people in general. The women's conferences, Bible studies, and the family focus.

Adventists - Pathfinders; the outreach to the community with temperance messages and activities (cooking school; stop smoking clinics, etc.); and the Bible Studies.

SDAs, for their focus on studying the Bible

Lutherans: For their connection of the original reformers and their faith

Church of Christ: For their emphasis that just being Christian is enough.

Liberals - because they are not quick to judge, generally.

Catholic:

One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic.

I'm pretty sure all Christian systems have good things endemic to them and while I should not laugh at other systems that are considered to be outside of the Christian faith I do find some elements of them to contain a level of humor. Such as,

Ah yes the Scientologists. The notorious group of hackers known as Anonymous are trying to destroy scientology. Unfortunatly for them most of them barely know anything about hacking.

Baptists for teaching and showing brotherly love.

SDA for striving hard to preserve the purity and holiness of the sabbath.

Messianics for bringing Christians back to the Judaic roots of the faith, and the feasts to the forefront.

Oh yes I admire Baptists as well for focusing on showing good old fashioned Christian love.

Pentecostals - they enjoy a good sing song
Adventists - for being interested in health issues
Catholics - for letting the clergy to wear dresses
Anglicans - for starting a church based on a man wanting to divorce his wife and marry his mistress, you gotta love that one!
Puritans - for not having a sense of humour

I find the Syriac, Indian, and Armenian churches fascinating, as they have an old history and were generally not under the influence of Catholics.

I like that the Catholics kept Christianity going in europe during the dark ages and trying times in the middle ages and still reaches out to many people in different areas today.

The North Americans or Native Mericans for their belief in the Great Spirit and living one with nature.
The Baptists for their loving fellowship
Adventists for their study of the Bible
Atheists for their non belief which increases my belief and faith and makes me love the Lord even more
