The one thing that I have a bit of an issue with is the lack of contemporary music in the church. I understand that we should be careful of how we worship because we are worshiping the Lord of heaven and He deserves to be truly worshiped. In my church the majority is above age 50. We don't have any 'young'-people music. It's all hymns. I don't have anything against hymns but as a younger person I really enjoy lighter, more upbeat music. It speaks to me more closely than hymns often do. But the majority of our members do not like it and don't want it in the church. So that is a very difficult thing for me to swallow. Our worship of God should be JOYOUS! not solemn.

Do others find this same issue in their SDA churches as well?

In my church it's a mix of traditional piano and organ with taped music tracts thrown in to accompany special music songs. There is occasional live orchestra stuff (mostly when the kids from the academy do songs), and very occasional synthesizer, electric guitar, and drums. Since there is this wiggle room to bring in "devil music" instruments (the guitars and drums) there is currently some groaning going on by the "old folks" about how we're all going to hell in a handbasket, so to speak. We also offer a Friday night fellowship that consists mainly of the church's bikers and bikers from the community. There is definitely rocking and rolling in these services. So, you can get traditional boring stuff or ear-splitting rock, depending on what day it is.

1. sancturary doctirine - 1844 , the prophetice calculations are not right
2. EGW. is not a prophet, supported errounous ideas
3. no soul. scripture is clear there is a soul, it goes to heaven and is brought back when Christ returns. I think the soul sleeps and is not a ghost, but referes to the characther of a person. the character is stored in heaven in a dormant state some where.

I like the SDA Church and am so happy to be a member.

The only disagreement I have with the church is that they rely so much on Ellen White. I believe she did receive information that was inspired. Her writings have helped and blessed many people.

My objection is that she did not receive the full prophetic picture of end time events. She puts too much of revelation in the past. I believe God didn't give her a picture of everything that will transpire immediately before the great tribulation and during the tribulation, because He knew she wouldn't be around when the tribulation happens.

Also, I think God wants people to keep digging, keep reading, keep studying His word. It's how He keeps interest going through all of time in His Word.

The SDA Church needs to take off their Ellen White glasses, close her books, open the Bible, rub their eyes.....acknowledge it's 2012....not 1860 something.Start looking at end time prophecy in a different light.

Look at prophecy from a person living in 2012, not in the 1860's. Look around at world events. We are going global. It's so obvious. Out government and the Catholic Church are further apart then they have ever been. (remember the contraception controversy?)

Just consider, EGW didn't have the full picture.

Where is the scripture for point 3? I would like to read it for myself
