Have you ever read the Diary of Ben Franklin? There's precious little of religious significance, even though he was the Bible thumping stalwart all through the Revolutionary War. There's about 2 pages (about p 62 IIRC) where he has an outline of the MOST significant Spiritual practice! I call it Biblical Christianity. Others that have seen it call it Deist.

It's nothing short of amazing ... the whole thing is available online free. No religion, no BS, TOTAL freedom to revere what you value, but it keeps you honest with yourself.

Edited to add - I can't find a diary, but loads of other stuff he wrote, letters, etc. Is there a link anywhere to just the diary?

I've seen places in Franklin's writings where he comes right out and calls himself Deist.
