Then why do the democrats latch onto the idea that whenever a black person suffers some misfortune that involves a white person, it's assumed to be racism, a hate crime, or some sort of bigotry at the root of it all, and how a democrat needs to come to the rescue with legislation that gives preferential treatment to certain people based on the color of their skin?

Falsely suggesting that Dems are covert racists helps Republicans feel better about support a party with overt racists.But has plenty of evidence to back it up. Not in the slightest. All those bad boys and girls and their followers have stayed Conservative, so they belong to you. I believe that you have no real idea of what you are saying, but you will learn, I have no doubt.They're also the ones with the longest stint in public (government) schools, and the least amount of life experience. Take a look at AOC and the stuff she says and you get an example.
I was wondering about the previous comment because it has been my experience that liberals, not conservatives in general, care about social justice, political and economic issues that affect minorities.
It has been my experience throughout my lifetime that liberals are more generally concerned and compassionate toward minorities, women, the poor, non-Christians, and LGBTQ. It's been liberals who are consistently involved in social justice and political issues for minorities. On the other hand, it has been conservatives who are consistently demeaning and mocking social justice and political issues for minorities. I've learned over the last three decades to consider any conservative who shows even the remotest interest in social justice or political issues for minorities to be an exception and not the rule.
If the GOP is "terrified", then it doesn't sound as if they endorse the Nazis and white supremacists, does it? In the meantime, every single democrat running for president does endorse OAC's socialist agenda.

To what "unequal treatment" are you referring?Nor does BLM have anything to do with MLK. One says to recognize a man for his character rather than the color of his skin, and the other says and does the opposite.
How about the present? Democrats use black people based on their race to enslave them to victimhood, holding them back from being independent. A person can be enslaved to victimhood status and the resulting complacency as easily as they can be enslaved to sin. Democrats are taking advantage of that by classifying people according to skin color and giving them unequal treatment.
