the angels at Sodom and GomorrahI have a question for this thread, do angels have physical bodies or are they entirely spiritual? Do any visual imaginary of them only exist for our benefit?
the angels at Sodom and Gomorrah
I think that sometimes when they come in human form they can be see by anyone present. But other times I think they can be seen only by the person they are intended to be seen by. I say that because someone else experienced something at my home but I didn't see it.
Same ones that visited Abraham.First thing that came to my mind was the angels that came to Lot's house in Genesis 19. Im sure Ive read somewhere that some angels are something like 8-10 foot tall.
Oh I just mean the situation of being implanted in the world. I should have worded that better now that I read it. Let me know if you remember more. I find this subject very interesting. But he
No he was not bad at all, in fact the opposite .He seemed to be protecting her .He looked like an every day normal man , but a bit ethereal . He knew that I knew ,but for whatever reason ,he had been sent as her 'brother and if I said anything he would have to go .
As I am writing this it is getting clearer .
I agree.I think that's talking about some people who resided in that area and some people believe them to be fallen angels. Don't take what I said for truth though. It's just something I read a long time ago and I could be completely wrong.
I would caution you in believing in stories of people saying that they saw an angel. Sometimes people can exaggerate a bit.
Interesting as I think that maybe the case in my story .She saw him ,but others did not ,so that is why she wanted me to film him ,and of course he was not in the film .the angels at Sodom and Gomorrah

I agree.
If we hadn't been very close friends for over 30 yrs. and I had never known them to exaggerate or lie, as well as the fact that they had been a Christian for almost 45 yrs. and they were completely surprised, I would have questioned it. This happened about 10 yrs. ago. But every time I have tried to question it, I just know that it is true. So I finally gave up trying to question it.
That's OK, I know how you feel, I usually a very skeptical person myself.Interesting. I don't deny that it is possible but I am skeptical.
I think they are around a great deal more than we realize.Oh I just mean the situation of being implanted in the world. I should have worded that better now that I read it. Let me know if you remember more. I find this subject very interesting.
I heard one story, which I will have to terribly paraphrase from memory, about a woman who ate lunch on a park bench everyday. There was a rapist who had his eye on her but every time he saw her she was with a man on the bench. He got caught or something like that putting her in the position to hear from him and he said he would have taken her but for the man that sat beside her everday. She sat alone.
J.P. Moreland had I think 3 angels guarding him according to someone who attended one of his speeches.
They project the appearance that's necessary for the task at hand.
I think they are around a great deal more than we realize.
But rarely seen. That is usually not necessary.
(This is not a comment on the truth or not of any particular story - just that it's not a rare thing at all for them to be present.)
I usually make the assumption that angels are around, but tend to not give too much thought to it beyond that assumption. Their service is between them and the Lord, and I trust Him and His charge over them to do what they are supposed to do. The Scriptures do, after all, tell us, "For He will order His angels to protect you in all you do." (Psalm 91:11)

I think that thinking about angels can be another form of idolatry. Some people worship them. It would take off the focus from God if we focused on them too much. I would have to agree with this post. We should not pay attention to angels and I think that angels generally try to avoid getting attention and make sure to present all glory to God. Demon's presences are more known because they are attempting to divert our attention from God. What do you think?
No, look in the mirror.Do they look like the girl in this Aerosmith video? 1:25
Is that what she looks like with her wings retracted?

We have no scriptural evidence that they can change form. Visible to invisible, yes; but not from human form to 6 wings with eyes all over the place; or 4 heads, etc.Angels do take on form, usually a human form, for God's purposes. But not always. And in visionary experiences, such as the one Isaiah has, angels are described in profound and sometimes bizarre ways. Isaiah, for example, in his vision sees the seraphim as having six wings. In yet another case, however, Ezekiel beholds angels with the appearance of "wheels within wheels".
