I do not remember for sure. I remember having one of those bicycles with the trainer wheels, when I was older.

But at age five I was probably driving myself crazy trying to get ice cream and candy.

I drove my Fathers 1935 Ford sedan sitting on his lap lol ! Yep he would do that coming home from the dump on the back roads to our house. Then I had a tractor trailer rig I could sit on in the house and push around with my feet. Don't recall a trike but I got a bike at age 7 and that gained me my first sense of freedom if there is such a thing at 7, but it felt like it.

Oh, you were one of those kids.

When my kids came along, I was perplexed. They rode trikes when little, which made sense. But, by the age of 5 there were no kids playing in the neighborhood. They were all playing soccer at some place 30 minutes from our house. So, they didn't want bikes. They wanted me to drive them to soccer. And that continued until they turned 16.

I had a two-wheel scooter which I stood on with one foot and used the other foot to push it.
They were fairly common back then.

Interestingly we played soccer on our bikes. We called it 'bike polo', but we used a soccer ball and kicked it or hit it with a croquet mallet. A great way to really skin up your shins.

Were your hands in the air while you screamed?
No way! You had to steer or it would roll over (hence the term Flyer).

Rode a tricycle but by age 8 had a bicycle and drove our old '49 chevy half ton (farm)

I think a tricycle, but I would also ride our Radio Flyer wagon down the hill if that counts...

We had one of those too, but it was way too unstable to ride down a hill.

Anybody have a Big Wheel?

Marx-Big-Wheel.jpg

Or one of these?

iu

That second thing was great. You could propel yourself in any direction, but the best application was turning one wheel in one direction and the other in the opposite direction really fast, spinning yourself around in one place till you got so dizzy you couldn't walk. That was fun. I swear I'd do it now if I had one!

Unfortunately, I wasn't a good big brother to my sister. Yet, for some reason she still loves me ... or at least she says she does.

I didn't get stuff like that. For example, when the rich kids got Legos, I got this:

No, no, no. I hate spinny things.
