  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What changes have you made this year?

I have made some changes this year. I have a long way to go, but here is what I've done

I got out of a legalistic bible study

I started going to a new church that I LOVE!

I have tried to pay off some debts. 2 steps forward 1 step back, but I am still trying.

I also started going to a church I LOVE! Actually, started going last year but officially became a member this year.

I'm walking and hiking more.

Paid off two credit cards.

After studying on my own, finally started taking a class on Biblical Greek.

I guess the changes I've made started last year. The relationship with my GF of 4.5 yrs wasn't working for me and I felt that I needed to end it. So we ended it in Feb. After a few months we have been able to remind friends and will be going on our 2nd vacation this New Years since we broke up.

I started going to dances and doing the personal growth work shops a couple of months later. This has lead to many new friends. Since its not a Christian community I have been able to share my faith with more people than I have in years.

But I guess the most profound change from my perspective is that I just try to be a friend to each person I meet. Now clearly I don't have time to be a close friend to everyone. But for the time I'm with a person I give them my attention, I accept them for who they are and I share my live honestly and openly with them. People seem to be really eating this up and I've started to get words of appreciation naturally that have really touched my heart.

So now that I'm seeing the effect of these words on my own life, I'm starting to think how I need to start learning how to give compliments like that to others just as freely. That is going to take some work as its not something that is natural for me to do.

I am trying to make more changes. I just went on the meetup.org site. Didn't really find anything that I wanted to "meet up" to try except the photography but one didn't have any events coming up and the other one was a nude shoot, not interested. Plus I don't have the proper camera for that just now. I'm not sure if I could handle the hiking ones because of my recent feet pain. I will keep looking though.

I guess I should have said revitalize the parish. Although the theory is, you effect one person at a time, and it spreads. A website can explain it better than I can. It's DynamicCatholic.com. So far we're planning on handing out free books after Christmas Masses. The book title is "Rediscover Catholicism." The idea is to give people a good Catholic book to read, and maybe is ignites some people to get more involved.

I have made some changes this year. I have a long way to go, but here is what I've done

I got out of a legalistic bible study

I started going to a new church that I LOVE!

I have tried to pay off some debts. 2 steps forward 1 step back, but I am still trying.

1. Ive left a local Church that has unrealistic visions for growth and that represents our Governments spending habits (a bottomless pit of money Mindset) .

2. Im taking my time selecting a new Church to attend regularly keeping in mind there is no perfect church, yet still maintaining some important criteria that should be met .

3. Ive made it a habit of having regular total silent time alone and going places to find that in the home and away .

4. Ive become more aware of Satans ploys and tactics in my personal life.

5. Ive developed more stringent criteria of allowing people in my life ..at least to a more emotional intimate level for both men and women. And ive realized what constitutes a toxic relationship .
