  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Nikon D40 + 18-55mm kit lens. I've had it for about a month and I love it so far!

I've also been getting into film photography lately. I was given my great-uncle's Pentax Spotmatic and it's so fun to use. I've developed my first roll but I'll have to wait until after winter break to see how they turned out, so I can use the university film scanners :)

I just ordered my XTi! I got the Canon 50mm 1.8 and Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5 to go with it. Can't wait for it to get here! ^_^

Yay! Great choice! I can't wait to get my first paycheck from my upcoming job in a couple months so I can get the Canon 70-200 f/4L.

This is what my camera will look like with it cept my XT is silver.

Hopefully my battery grip will balance out the front-heavy setup. :p

Right now as I learn, I am useing a Fuji FinePix. My Husband took me to the camera store to gift me with a better camera..since I'm teaching myself, I opted to wait a bit more till I learn more about the camera I have...I just now am learning about DOF, Bokeh, and some ect.'s..and venturing off manual and experimenting with other settings.

Canon Digital Rebel XTI
Canon 50mm f/1.8, Sigma 10-20mm, Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8, Tamron 28-75mm, Tamron 70-300mm

I like the compactness of the camera best of all. The XTI in combination with various lenses has captured some beautiful crystal clear images.
The only nit I have is that the construction is not very durable. I dropped it once over the summer last year, and put some serious scrapes on parts of the body and a button or two. Still, I love it.
I'd like to try toward a 40D later in the year, to have a second body to work with.

Also my old point and shoot is a (5.1 mp) Kodak Z740 with a wide-angle extender lens. I still use it now and then. :)

I use a Nikon CoolPix 7900 for taking eBay pix, slipping in my shirt pocket when I go out shopping, errands, etc. I've had it for 2 yrs. and it's a terrific 7.1 MP, 3X zoom, P.& S. camera that takes very good portraits, landscapes, and even macro images and a bonus is that it fits easily in a pocket or purse.

I have had a Canon S3 IS, 6 MP, 12X zoom, "prosumer" camera that I've used for over a year that takes excellent shots that are often close or equal to many DSLR images I see posted on photo sites. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a high-end digital camera but doesn't want to enter the very expensive Digital SLR field. It also takes beautiful cam-corder quality videos (up to 1 hr. long) with excellent stereo audio as well as nice macro shots, which is why I'm keeping it even though I recently purchased an 8.2 MP Canon 30D DSLR.

I haven't had time to use the 30D much yet but it comes well-recommended by all the reviews and comments I've read online.

Here are a couple of examples of images I took with my S3 IS (my siggy pic was taken with the S3 also):
