I am currently reading Dune...
Not one of the trilogy books but a more recent release. It goes back in time to the beginning of the story. When spice first came to out-world notice. The start of the Sorceresses. The AI empire and how the league of Nobles tried to overthrow the regime. Short chapters, lots of history, fast paced action.
