It had me gripped all the way through. It's the only book by Tolstoy that I've read yet but I might read some of his other stuff soon. Just started reading the Brothers Karmazov by Dosteovsky (big fan of Crime and Punishment so I hope it will be just as good).

I read the Brothers Karamazov a couple months ago. Dostoevsky and Tolstoy are absolute polar opposites as writers- one is all passion, the other cool craft- but both make you feel big things. I think I prefer Tolstoy but neither man should be missed.

I decided to go back to Shakespeare for this week, to get my head cleared a little. :)

I remember I was given a gift of his entire collection when I was turing 20. I read much of it, but not all, and put it away cause I don't know Shakespeare does things to me I can't explain. I read Sonnet 120 just now. Thats so intensely amazing. Anyhow, I've decided tonight I'm starting to read The Rape of Lucrece. I avoided that one for a while, but I think I am ready for it. =) But, the Sonnets are now more interesting to me.
