He also paid off the mortgage of a perfect stranger who helped fix Trump's car.

Charity is a good thing, and cannot always be hidden so that we can do as He says: do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing

But....there is an additional concern, another, that it not be too showy or dramatic --

2“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full."
Matthew 6 NIV

It would have been perhaps just right though if the person fixing his car was poor or out of a job, and/or sick, and/or about to lose his house, or just struggling to pay for his house, such as being behind on it.

Of course, while charity is normally to be hidden...

This following absolutely should be seen:

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control."
Galatians 5 NIV

Not as an optional extra. But as the essential basic. A basic sign of belief. Not always perfect, but usually mostly there, in visible parts, routinely.

Do you agree?

You can do this with every President that ever existed. Bottomline, we really need to take a lesson from 1 Samuel 8.
