I'm going to be living in London for a few months, so I'm looking for ideas of what to do and where to go beyond the usual tourism sites. :) Is there a restaurant that you recommend to everyone? A little-known antiques shop? An event between the months of January and June that I should definitely attend?

Thanks!

If you enjoy Chinese food, Joy King Lau and Wan Chai Corner in Chinatown are my personal favourites (and I'm Chinese).

The 24-hour Bagel Bake on Brick Lane in Aldgate East / Shoreditch is a MUST. Go on a Sunday morning to take advantage of the market, antiques shops and the international food hall.

Only joking - I went to London just before the Referendum in case it became a foreign country! I voted 'no'.

I know it may be considered touristy but I really enjoyed the Emirates Airline (cable car) - reasonably priced and it was much higher and longer than I expected.

When I woz at art school, back in the late 80s, the lecturer was taking us all on an outing to London. And he said that there 'were things that he had to do in London'. To which, one of the students, of Caribbean ethnicity, said "What, a peep show?' And the lecturer then said to him 'why don't you go and smoke cannabis'.. racial profiling?
Well, I suppose Danny did have the dreadlocks, but there were some shocked reaction that the lecturer would say such a thing. Do tatty dreads equal to the consumption of said narcotic substance?
Anybody?

Anybody?
