  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As for me, I've been going Looney for Looney Tunes here of late. The Golden Collections and Platinum Collections are wonderful. I've been using a program decrypt the vob files and another to convert into video suitable (smaller file size) for tablet and arranging the shorts in a chronological order, so that one folder contains nothing but shorts from the 40's, and so on. It only seems to have occured to me recently, just how old the Looney Tunes cartoons are, like 97% are from the 30's-60's. I had been conscious of the name Chuck Jones, but becoming more aware of other famous directors. It's kind of funny, I grew up watching Looney Tunes, and loved them. As an adult, I became more aware to how much animated violence they contain, or how much the gags rely on forms of violence or injury. Also I never realized until later how un-politically correct they were, which is nice for a change, afterall, they are just CARTOONS meant for entertainment, a few laughs to help pass the time.
