This is a popular thread in many forums.

I finished In the Midst of Wolves by Barry McGuire & Logan White. Fiction tale about a born again biker.

Currently working on:

The Untold Story of the New Testament Church by Frank Viola
The Kingdom That Turned the World Upside-Down by David Bercot

I read the Bercot book last year.

While I was in the Lancaster PA area last week I picked up a book at the "Bible Outlet" (1/3 of the local store price:thumbsup:) called Three Views on Eastern Orthodoxy and Evangelicalism by 5 assorted orthodox & evangelical dudes. It'll probably be shelved for now but couldn't pass it up--since I almost paid full price on it a couple of times.

I finished "Good Works- Good News" last year. It was actually used as a text book in one of my theology classes (Christian school kid here) for a Benevolence section. Wonderful read! It discuss how different groups look at evangelism through preaching and social work eyes and then discusses the Biblical veiw on the two. I'm proud to say that the book takes the stand that Anabaptism is the closest to the biblical veiw among the modern church theologies!!

Also currently reading God's Politics- ok so far- talks about political issues that divide the sides (Rep. and Dem.) and what stance the Bible takes on them. It's a great defense book to read for anyone who might want to argue that Christians can be Democrats too.... like me....

Well, I picked up Utopia at a garage sale for 50 cents. I've never read it before, but I like it a lot so far. It's about the comparison between an idealized perfect society and the way Christians should be living. Believe it or not, it was written in 1516!

The other one I got at a thrift store a couple months back and this is the first I'm actually looking at it.

Has anyone ever read Frank Peretti? He is a Christian fiction writer. He works with a lot of different situations some with obvious Christian themes and others with deeper hidden meanings, but they are all wonderful. My favorite author by far!

I've read the "darkness" books a couple of times each. I read "The Oath" and "Prophet". Never read any of his children books though. I always enjoy the spiritual battle aspect of the "darkness" books, makes ya wonder regarding the power of effectual prayer and the battle between dark and light.

I'm rading The Bishop's Daughter by Wanda E. Brunstetter (it's a christian fiction book about the amish) and getting ready to start reading all of my lovely textbooks for school.

Were they as expensive as the news says?

My textbooks? Yes! For the fall semester my books are going to cost almost $700  Thank goodness I only have 2 more semesters until I am done with school and these crazy textbook prices.

I think it would take me a little while to spend that on regular books.

Just out of curiousity how many textbooks didja get for $700?
