Power, power, it happens every day
Power, devour, all along the way

Oh no, move me out of harm
I need a spell and a charm

Fly like the wind
I'm no pawn
So be gone
Speed on and on
Kill the King

Joe Rogan has had some interesting guests on lately. Listened to Bill Murray today and will listen to Billy Corgan tomorrow.

While I don't mind Rogan, his tendency to drift interviews into conspiracy theories even if the guest doesn't want it does annoy me and really drags some otherwise good interviews down.

I just don't get Rogan's popularity. He was a mediocre fighter, then a horrible stand up comic. If you watch his earliest podcasts he's like a high school kid goofing around in his bedroom with a bad camera. Next thing you know, he's talking with every super influential person on the planet. Weird. In interviews he really brings nothing to the table. I don't dislike him, I just don't get it.

Hmm. Not sure myself. I don't listen to him often. I don't think he's always a bad interviewer. Some of it comes down to personal tastes. Just.. as I get older I find myself getting more annoyed and disinterested about 'stonerish' thoughts, lol. Maybe it's unfair. I believe Joe started his podcast to just chill and relax and have interesting freeform chats with friends. He never dreamed of having the influence he has today. Just seems like.. maybe he could be more responsible with his content.

Do you listen to any podcasts?

I may not have listened to Rogan enough to know what you're talking about, but one thing I like is I think he's fair. There's a reason people like Kamala Harris wouldn't do his show - he's not going to ask softball questions. I've heard him ask tough questions of both conservatives and liberals, of religious people and atheists, etc.

But there are such things as conspiracy theories. You're not going to know whether the theory is real or fake unless you delve into it and discuss it. I don't have a problem with talking about them. Of course there are exceptions. Some are just too absurd from the git go.

I listen to podcasts, but I don't listen to any single ones on a regular basis. I just sometimes kind of browse around to see if there's an interesting topic or interesting guest somewhere. What about you?

I don't remember Joe being too hardball with Trump's interview either. Although I believe he wouldn't have been any tougher on Kamala if she did choose to sit down for an interview. I believe he'd be too intimidated to do a hard ball interview with a potential future president. Instead just justify the softness of the interview as his podcast being centered around "two guys just talking".

Talking about conspiracy theories is fine, especially if the discussion is hard under a heavy skeptical lens. Just that Joe often gives too much credence to the conspiracy sides of the issues.

For someone of his influence it's understandably concerning. Especially regarding parents and their children. Mostly likely boys, but I say this having similar fears about female influences in modern culture.

I listen to a podcast called The Honeybadgers. A group of men's rights activists (personal I prefer using the egalatarinsm label myself). What's interesting about the podcast is it's hosts are pretty even gender wise. With plenty of female and male perspectives intermingling. They share a lot of gender sentiments, grievances and issues I always had ever since I was a child.

I listen to another podcast called Deepfatfried. Kind of an offshoot of a podcast called The Drunken Peasants. It might mean nothing to you but one of the hosts is called 'The Amazing Atheist'. I have been listening to that guy since around 2007. Even when I was still a Christian myself.

Although those podcasts are not centered around atheism, despite all the hosts being ones.
