  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What are you listening to?

I've been listening to a lot of Korn lately. Always liked them since I was a kid. Although I had no idea how influential they were with more modern forms of metal. Gives me a greater appreciation for the band.

It takes me back though. Unfortunately I grew up in a Christian household that looked down on a lot of music genres. Didnt matter if itcwas Christian or not. Especially rock/metal. Only way I could listen to it was a Walkman I had. I remember being blown away when I discovered a public radio station that would play death/black metal. I remember being blown away by how raw music could be.

I still like metal but it has lost some of it's luster. Especially not being in a situation where such music was forbidden. All it did was make such music more emotionally powerful for me.
