CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well it's summertime, so...
One odd thing to notice about American Bandstand is that, yes, it was American, but there is no bandstand. The bands play at floor level. Go ahead, ask your AI what a bandstand is.
Also, I don't want to get all political, but there were two bands the San Francisco hippies did not like. One was CCR, who wore flannel shirts and were perceived to represent the American lower working class, and if you haven't yet figured it out, hippies are elitists. The other band they didn't like was Blue Cheer, just because they were in the process of inventing heavy metal and their performances were too loud and thunderous. To his credit, Dick Clark points out that there are way too many Marshall stacks for a three piece band. What's also interesting is that despite all that wall of sound being produced, someone forgot to put a microphone in front of the singer, yet he's still pretty clearly heard. Anyway, enjoy. Or not.
