• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What are you listening to?

This past Sunday the sermon was on the 'beattitude' "blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven", what really moved me though was a clip played afterwards, shorty before we were dismissed. It's called "My King!" highlights from a sermon by Dr. S. M. Lockridge. If you search Youtube, you will find there are many different 'versions', this one is very similar to the one I watched...

I went into the music store today to look at the uke's, I've been toying with the idea of buying one and found a row of inexpensive Bodhrans'! They have a really distinctive sound that I have enjoyed via YouTube but never thought I'd see one around my area. Instead of buying a ukulele I decided to wait and see what kind of instructional material I could find online for the Bodhron...I'll keep you posted. Just don't tell my wife I'm buying another loud instrument. lol I have an soprano recorders, alto recorders, tin whistles, harmonicas, a mandolin, guitar, jews harp, banjo and hopefully a Bodhron.

As pants the hart for cooling streams,
When heated in the chase;
So longs my soul, Oh God, for Thee,
And Thy refreshing grace.
Oh, for converting grace, and oh,
For sanctifying pow’r;
Lord, we ask in Jesus’ name,
A sweet, refreshing show’r.

For Thee, my God, the living God,
My thirsty soul doth repine;
Oh, when shall I behold Thy face,
Thy majesty divine?
Why restless, why cast down, my soul?
Hope still; and thou shalt sing
Praise of Him who is thy God,
Thy health’s eternal spring.
