I'm enjoying some down time! Busy day!
I've been auditioning for a part in a musical and I got the female lead!!!
I am completely crazy! Tell me that I'm crazy. haha Practices start mid-April...looks like there goes my spring. Singing, dancing and playing piano makes me feel so ALIVE!
I am so excited!!

Thanks everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes. It was a good day. Had a long talk with 2 of my grandkids, the ones out west. They sent me hand made cards that they made themselves.

What's the musical, saricharity?

And yes, you're crazy. But enjoy it now while you can... My husband loves musical theatre, but since we became parents the demands of life have meant he hasn't been able to do a show and commit to all the rehearsals etc.

I am crazy LOL I haven't been part of a musical since I did South Pacific a few years ago. (My mom had a big part in that play.) I didn't have a large part in that by choice because of preparing my music repertoires for Royal Music Conservatory exams.
The commitment to rehearsals is crazy! Thankfully things don't get too intense until my semester at school is completed mid-April. I am pumped to be part of it! I auditioned just half-heartedly, not even sure if I really wanted to commit, plus I never dreamed I would get the female lead.
The musical is Sound of Music. *squee so excited *

My mom has done musical theatre for years when I was growing up...she is completely amazing!!! I so long to be like her...she seems to be able to balance everything so well...husband, children, homeschool, a part-time job and her musical interests. I know in the future if I ever want to continue this, I will definitely need to learn balance.

Maybe your husband can try again in the future when your children are older? I'm not sure you can ever get the show out of your blood

Yes, maybe when our daughter is older. The difficulty now is that a show would mean lots of rehearsals when I'm working, and she really isn't old enough to be left to her own devices. It's not just about balance for my husband but also the fact that my job basically dominates our household life completely.

The closest I get is managing to find a couple of hours a week for a community choir; even that's sometimes challenging but they understand if I can't be at rehearsals because of work. But a show would be two nights plus a weekend afternoon, and that's just too much.

This week went by quickly, and work was really great. I've really started focusing more on Jesus throughout my day, instead of the stress or whatever I'm thinking about. But, instead, realizing that Jesus has it all. I don't need to overthink and I enjoyed my workweek so much better because of this shift in thinking.

Blocking my pm's. I've had an epiphany sort of, and it is why am I talking with guys married or not, in pm's? It's not what Jesus would suggest. Not that anything bad is being discussed, but I think as a married woman, it's not appropriate.

I liken it to if a random guy off the street asked to hang out with me at Starbucks to have a chat. lol I mean, would we do that? Would we go? Would I call my husband and say ''hey this guy I don't know, wants to hang out and chat, do you mind?'' lol I think that social media has made it easy to do just that, without the physical presence. But, the mind still knows what it's doing. Nothing wrong with idle chats here and there, but ongoing pm's with the opposite sex on here, what is the purpose?

Was very pushed for time and didn't get to see half of it, but was impressed with what I did see. I think next year I'll have to go back, with more time!

Yes, it is in the 70's today. I'm in the south

Hubby went to the grocery store, and we're going to have steaks on the grill tonight. I don't eat much red meat, but in the mood for a steak and salad tonight. What are you guys having for dinner tonight?
