My husband and I don't do anything for Christmas. About the only thing that we actually do is find a nice restaurant to eat at. This is not celebrating Christmas, but just getting out of the house on our day off.
The reason we don't celebrate it is because we decided to study its origins and discovered it has absolutly nothing to do with Christ and His birth.
If anything, all of its origins, including the date, dates back to pagan practices. Also it has never been commanded to remember His birth, but the Word does command us to remember His death.
I do not minimize the birth of Christ for it was a miracle of God, and should never be put aside and forgotten. But it should be kept in mind the orgin of Christmas.
We do not try to persuade anyone to do what we have decided to do, but be informed. There are quite a few websites that tell you the history of the Christmas holiday. Check them out.

Well, we're gonna try to go to Texas to visit my wife's family (a white Christmas is out). Ought to be interesting, it'll be the first plane trip since my wife's paralysis. Not sure how it's gonna work. It's also going to be the first Christmas since the loss of our daughter, so that should make for some rough moments. But, it will also be the first Christmas our younger daughter will be able to really participate and enjoy, so that will be fun.

As far as I know we are going to spend Christmas here at home. My mom and step-dad just got married last January and this will be our first Christmas all together. It should be very good. And of course open presents and eat a very big dinner I can't wait for the food!!!
I forgot the most important thing there is for my family at Christmas which is celebrating Jesus's birth, oy I can't believe I forgot to mention that :o

I celebrate December 23rd by taking my little girl to Disneyland, Christmas eve with some family and midnight mass and then Christmas day with more family. I have 12 brothers and sisters and 25 nieces and nephews so you can imagine Christmas is one huge party

Well christimas day is a good time for me to get out of the house, find people on the streets and get them to know what Christ means. With the help of my church of course.
I don't celebrate christmas with a big tree anymore. I feel it gives me a sense of guilt when i see it in my house and thinking there are so many other people who don't even know what Christ means. Oh and the exploitation of 'christmas' sales just makes me feel uneasy.

My answer to your question is that we will be home with family on Christmas Day. We open one present before going to church then open others when we return home. During the rest of the day we usually play games.
Last Year i was moved to light a single candle at home as soon as I got up, just to remind us of the presence of Chrsit with us and the reason why we can enjoy the day together.
This leads me to a subsidiary question.....

For example, in the UK, presents are opened on Christmas day, but in some continental countries, they open presents on Christmas Eve.

There is nothing wrong with celebrating Christmas or any other holidays. Some Christians act like celebrating anything is a sin.

Even though it is not Jesus's birthday, I will wake up and wish Him a happy birthday. Christmas is symbolic to me. It reminds me of my Saviour and all He did for me(and you).
I hope I am going skiing, or if not, just chill out. Maybe boating if it is not too cold(yeah right).
