From what I've seen Beavis And Butthead's new movie is getting really good review scores. A little surprising honestly.

I guess I'll have to get a Paramount Plus subscription for at least a month.

To be fair, the 2011 revival of Beavis And Butthead did have a few good episodes. Probably a better revival compared to most shows. Although while I do like the show, and it probably makes me laugh more than any other... the writing is pretty formulaic. It's more intelligent at times than some give it credit for, but it's not as difficult as say recreating the classic Simpsons feel.

I like Mike Judge's work. He finds aspects that are funny and knows how to repeat them in a way that still feels somewhat fresh, but there are other shows that rely less on that and as a result are more challenging to write.

I really wanted to start "30 Coins" which is about the coins Judas took for betraying Jesus.
Not a documentary.
"Kenobi" - Mixed. As a fan I see a lot wrong with it.
"Stranger Things" - Beware as some "fans" are pushing for an underage boy to be gay even though there's no such thing in the series.

Beavis and Butthead Do The Universe... 20 minutes in..

So far, I don't like the cheap flash animation. Some reviewers said it perfectly captures the look of the 1990s series.. but no.. it doesn't. I've laughed a few times.. but it really doesn't feel like Beavis And Butthead. Although hoping the ending makes more sense. It's not terrible or anything.. as a big fan I still want to watch more.. but I just wish it captured the 1990s feel more.

Huh... that was interesting... felt more like Rick And Morty.

I wish the movie had more of the original tone... but if you don't care about it... it's not bad.

Whatever I guess.. the past is done.. it's not coming back.

Just finished Dog Day Afternoon. Didn't know it was directed by the guy who directed the original movie 12 Angry Men. Another classic film. I do find it interesting with directors who direct during different ages of Hollywood. Like Alfred Hitchcock who started with making silent films, then ended his career making films in the 1970s with more modern cinematography and film sensibilities.

Devil In A Blue Dress. Mainly watching it because Jennifer Beals is in it. She was so cute, and still doesn't look bad for pushing 60. Also, Denzel Washington is in it, which is cool. Might be other big-name actors too, not sure yet.

I saw that about 20 years ago. My memory must be slipping. I thought Marisa played the judge and Herman Munster was cute.

But what I'm currently watching is my redneck neighbors engaged in a knife fight to determine who gets the last Zima. Which is odd on several levels, considering Zima is only sold in Japan these days.

No but I also watched Dog Day Afternoon recently. The gay guy was cute. More importantly, I learned that, just as I suspected, gays are also bankrobbers.

Currently watching Woody Allen movies. The only real exposure I had with him growing up was watching him voice the lead character "Z" in Antz. He was pretty funny and entertaining in that. From the little I've seen form his movies, it's nice to see that a semblance of that humor is present. The neurotic Jew. I feel that many in my generation know of his name, but his work is largely unknown.

Mel Brooks and the Monty Python group from a similar timeline are better known.

The Last Kingdom (2018-2022, Netflix).

It's a series on Netflix about the birth of England in the ninth and tenth centuries (ca. 860-915 AD). It stars Alexander Dreymon as the fictional protagonist Uhtred of Bebbanburg (modern-day Bamburgh), born to a Saxon lord in Northumbria but raised by Ragnar the Fearless, a Danish warlord, who adopted him as Uhtred Ragnarsson. With all the other kingdoms falling to Danish invaders, Wessex is the last kingdom under a defiant King Alfed the Great whose ambition is to rout the Danes and unite England as one kingdom. On a quest to reclaim his birthright, Uhtred must tread a dangerous path between warring Danes and Saxons during this birth of a new nation.

Terminator 3. Not a very good movie, but it has pretty fun mindless action scenes in it. Plus, the female terminator is hot. I like how she licks blood to get a DNA sample.
