I have such a long list of books to read. The one that's on the top of my head is THE BIBLE. I really don't read the Word as much as I should. I also need to read Don't Waste Your Life by John Piper. After that, I have sooo many books I have at home, but havn't read. For me, it's just tough to find time and motivation to do so.

"The Gosepel According To Jesus" by Stephen Mitchell, a Jewish man. It's wonderful, and it's really been a great spiritual journey thus far. You don't have to believe or agree with every single thing he says to get something out of it either, it's written "for believers an unbelievers" and really gets into the humanity of Jesus alot. The middle part, "The Gospel" is what he himself believes are the parts of the Gospel that he thinks actually happened, and he does alot of reflecting and clarifying in both a spiritual and historical manner, but he doesn't pretend to have "all the answers" (which none of us do), and even says "hey I could be wrong, but this is what makes sense to me" or something along those lines at a couple parts. I recomend it highly, you may have to special order it though, there is also a book written for teens "Jesus, what he really said and did" which I read several years ago, this one is more historical than spiritual though, but both are good, and the latter one is much shorter if you're busy.

Got reading a good book last night for a while. Plot is basically one of a country at war, bigomy, jealousy, political and domestic intrigue, and corruption.

First book of Samuel. Dammed good read. And of course you then get David and Goliath a bit later.
