CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Parables of Peanuts by Robert Short. I found it in my attic-it was my moms when she went to college. Im amazed at how similar the church is between the 70's and today. Plus it has classic Peanuts cartoons to break up the seriousness of the books topics. Definitly recommended.

Currently reading "A Wrinkle In Time" by Madeline L'Engle. I read it when I was about 9 or 10 years old and now, reading it with adult eyes, I am seeing so much of the symbolism that I missed as a child. I can't wait to read the other books proceeding this one!

I just finished the first Left Behind book, and I'm starting the second. I'm about to also read Revelations so that a fiction series is not my only source on the end times.
I'm also reading Teaching the Trivium by Laurie and Harvey Bluedorn. (Christian Classical Home Education)
I also have several books that I reference daily, but I wouldn't say I'm reading them. Various translations of the Bible, devotionals (Mom's Devotional Bible and the Jesus Loves Me Devotional For Kids), plus some other homeschool activity books and text books.
Oh, and I am listening to my husband read the Chronicles of Narnia (all of the books) to the kids every night.

Yes. I liked Queen of the ****** better tho. I guess the presence of Tom Cruise kinda messed it up for me. I don't like him very well.Koryu said:

Now that school is over I am reading "In the Beginning" by Alister McGrath. It's a good book about the history of the King James Bible. McGrath is very readable and I would like to get more of his stuff.
I would like to start "The Birth of the Messiah" by Raymond Brown. It is a commentary over the infancy narratives.
