One of my favourites! How are you enjoying it?

I'm reading 'She's Come Undone' by Wally Lamb, a book club choice.

Thats an excellent book!:thumbsup:

Have you read "I know this much is true" by the same author? I recommend that one too

I think I have the first book in that series. Is it good?

Captivated..how is Gilead. I have seen it around ,but never picked it up...is it good?

Yes. It's thought-provoking and moving, I found myself with tears in my eyes towards the end. But it is full of hope and I've underlined lots of paragraphs that contain great theology and beautiful expressions of God's love. It'll be one of those books I'll need to read again (and maybe again and again) to let it soak in. I hope you enjoy it if you decide to give it a try!

I was encouraged that a book with such an obvious Christian theme won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction (2005).

His Beloved Melody, looking at the phrase under your forum name you might like this quote from 'Gilead' ;

"There are two occasions when the sacred beauty of Creation becomes dazzingly apparent, and they occur together. One is when we feel our mortal insufficiency to the world, and the other is when we feel the world's mortal insufficiency to us. Augustine says the Lord loves each of us as an only child, and that has to be true.'He will wipe the tears from all our faces.' It takes nothing from the loveliness of the verse to say that is exactly what will be required."
