"Night" by Elie Wiesal

Note: Very, very hard story to read. It's a biography of a man that was taken as a boy to Aushwitz Concentration camp. It's fairly graphic as well, but if you can take it, it's amazing.
I would not give it to readers under 16.

Could I make a suggestion? Please?? :)

If it wouldn't detract from the purpose of this thread, would it be possible for those who mention what they are reading to give just a BRIEF idea of what the book is about? And I do mean brief...just a sentence or two. I'm really not talking about a book review.

I love to read and am always looking for new books to read, but if I'm not familiar with the title or author, I have no idea if it would be something I would like or not!

Maybe there's another thread that discusses more about the title and author, and if so please let me know.

If the suggestion takes hold, great! If not, carry on!

I just finished a bunch of books I checked out from the library (returned them last night even).

Night Train to Rigel by Timothy Zahn
This is set in a futuristic world where we've made contact with other races out there. Everyone is trying to save all the races and bumbling into each other as they try. I thought it was mediocre.

The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom (A Toltec Wisdom Book) by Don Miguel Ruiz
Well, the name says it all. It's got some good advice, but I think we already know it. Other parts were a little bit strange, IMO.

Shaman's Crossing by Robin Hobb
I have loved all the books of hers that I have read. It's the life of a boy who is the son of a soldier turned noble, but who is also destined to be a soldier. I think it is about a boy who has to learn to hold to his beliefs and sense of honor in a world that views things differently. It's also about changing the way you see things and respecting what's different from you. It was very realistic in many ways. Ok, I won't rattle on more about how awesome this book is. I can't wait for the rest though.

I didn't get that many books from the library as I didn't have a lot of time to look though things. I picked up David Farland's The Runelords. I am going to start on it today at some point. I haven't even read the back. I just saw it on the shelf, made sure it was the begining or a stand alone and grabbed it. We'll see.
