I just started Beloved by Toni Morrison. I'm really into it already.

Good for you. She is one author that never could hold my attention. Sula and The Bluest Eye are definately on my worst books list.

Right now I am re-reading The Da Vinci Code in preparation to tear Tom Hanks acting to shreds in the upcoming film. I am so disappointed in him playing the lead character.

I'm reading "Safely Home" by Randy Alcorn. It's the story of an American businessman who reunites with his college roommate, a Christian in China. A very eye-opening book about the persecuted church and what Christians in other countries endure for their faith in Christ. It has given me a whole different perspective of what "freedom to worship" really means. It's "Christian fiction", but incredibly real.

I Kissed Dating Goodbye by Joshua Harris. Let me tell ya, this book is a high-quality read for anyone wanting to break the typical chain of going out with someone only to experience the pain of breaking up. I'll admit that I only have second-hand exprience in this matter (I've only seen it happen, but that's more than enough for me to want to break the cycle for others), this book even speaks to me. It is fierce in its rebukes of even those who believe they are pursuing a higher path than contemporary society (no matter how well-off you are, there's always room for improvement, believe me). I have barely been able to put it down!

Sorry, didn't mean to write an entire review :) .

I will tell you, I DID cry in several places in the book. I finished it last night, and I have thought about it all day today. I have been really moved by what I read.

I use the word "powerful" to describe "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers, and I would describe Alcorn's book the same way. Besides having a new perspective on "freedom to worship". it has also given me a new love for the Word of God. We take so much for granted.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
