"The Visitation" by Frank Perretti

It's about this "retired" pastor in this little town, told from mostly his first-person perspective. A man who looks and acts exactly like Jesus Christ comes into the town and everyone goes nuts for him. But the "retired" pastor, Travis, and the new pastor of his church, Kyle, don't believe that he really is Jesus, so they are out to disprove him, against the will of pretty much the whole town. It's a journey of self-discovery in a way for Travis, too.

It's a great book...I'm about four-fifths of the way through it now. I haven trouble putting it down when I start reading it! It's says a lot about churches, too, which I was really surprised at, in a good way. :)

Showdown by Ted Dekker...kind of creepy in a good sense....hm...a Christian Stephen King?

Nope! King in the most contemporary sense! :) I tend to read him a lot, I always find his books so interesting.
I had just finished "The Handmaid's Tale" by Margret Atwood, and I needed something a bit more 'fast-paced' so I thought, 'what better then to read a collection of short stories by King!' :p So I did!
