Dear bobbarry. Christians do many good and right things, but Love and Compassion are sadly missing in many of us. Jesus told us in
Matthew 22: 35-40: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all our hearts, with all our souls, and with all our minds. The second is like it:
Love our neighbour as we love our selves." Then Jesus points out this great truth: " On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
What does God want from us? God wants our Love, freely given and No tags attached. In Matthew 7:7-10: we are told: " Ask and ye shall receive," then we thank God and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour: all we know and all we meet, friends and not friends. We keep asking for Love and Joy, thanking God, and sharing all with our neighbour. God will see our loving efforts, and God will Bless us.
The Bible tells us: " Repent and be Born Again," and we change our selfish and unloving character, into: Loving and Caring for our neighbour. That is what God wants from us, and once we start loving and caring, we will change into the sons and daughters which God wants us to become. We might stumble and forget at times, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on loving and caring. Jesus our Saviour will help and guide us: JESUS IS THE WAY.
What are we doing wrong as Christians? we are hiding our love and compassion too well, instead of showing an imperfect world what Love can do. Love is a Christian`s great weapon, and love will help us to change many things.
I say this with love, bobbarry. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.
