The Bible says that the Messiah died on the preparation day, the day prior to the 7th-day Sabbath, and also, the day before the lunar "shadow" Sabbath. You might see a paradox if you don't understand the difference between, as well as, the principles used in determining the feast day schedule in the two Hebrew calendars, Hillel I and Hillel II. The Hillel I calendar was used until the middle of the 4th century C.E. Therefore, it was the calendar in use during the time that the Messiah was on earth.


In using the principles for determining the feast day schedule under the Hillel I calendar, in 31 C.E., we find that the first sliver of the new moon would have been visible Friday evening on the 13th of April (Gregorian calendar) at the beginning of the 7th-day Sabbath.


That would have been the first day of the first month of the year, making April 14 (Gregorian calendar) a 7th-day Sabbath. And the Passover occurred on the 14th day of this first month which was on Friday, the 27th of April.


Since the Hebrews counted the day beginning in the evening, the night before, the day actually began in the evening on Thursday, the 26th of April (Gregorian calendar) in 31 C.E. The "shadow" Sabbath began on the preparation day in the evening of the 27th of April (Gregorian calendar) making the 28th of April, the "shadow" Sabbath. Of course, that particular year, the 28th of April was also, a 7th-day Sabbath. Again, the day begins the night before at sunset.

In the Hillel I calendar, as in the Hillel II calendar, the first visible sliver is often used to determine the first day of the month, however, occasionally, the new moon near the point of conjunction is used for this purpose, and the moon is not visible at that point. This would be the case when the "shadow" Sabbath and its anti-type, the 7th-day Sabbath, could fall on the exact same day, such as, at the new moon of the seventh month or when the tenth day of the seventh month, also a "shadow" Sabbath, could fall on the 7th-day Sabbath, again, the type occurring on the anti-type.

William Miller used the ancient Karaite calendar which was the Hillel I calendar, the same calendar in use until the middle of the 4th century C.E. It calculated the year to begin with the first new moon after the spring equinox rather than the new moon nearest the spring equinox, which is the difference between Hillel I and Hillel II. This was of necessity to observe the Biblical requirement of using ripe barley in the Wave Sheaf offering.

William Miller observed Sunday and he had no concern over the "shadow" Sabbaths or the 7th-day Sabbath at that time.

His use of the ancient calendar would never have fixed Passover to always fall on the preparation day, the 6th day of the week, Friday,--as this calendar was a lunar-based calendar, and therefore, caused Passover to fall on a different day of the week each year. But the day following Passover was specified to always be a lunar "shadow" Sabbath, even though it moved to a different day of the week each year.

This theory has been deliberately conceived to distract from the true significance of these "lunar" "shadow" Sabbaths and what they were designed to represent. This theory is having the exact effect that it was designed to have, and that is to cause people to disregard the true meaning and significance of the "lunar" Sabbaths which were designed by God to be prophecies of 7th-day Sabbaths, when the spring feasts were fulfilled and when the fall feasts will be fulfilled.



The references used are from the King James' Version of the Bible, although any literal translation, such as, Young's Literal Translation or the 1599 Geneva Bible are also true translations.



I hope I have presented this clearly, but if not, please comment and ask any questions.


LUNAR SABBATHS​


The prophecy of Daniel 8:14 is actually the angel's words to Daniel, "And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. “Then in Daniel 9 the angel
explains the meaning of the vision and the time periods in the prophecy. The angel specifies that the 2300 would reach to a specific event--
"the cleansing of the sanctuary".​

The cleansing of the sanctuary occurred on the Day of Atonement, which was the 10th day of the 7th month, thus the antitype would also, of necessity, occur on this specific day, the Day of Atonement. In 1844, the Day of Atonement occurred on October 22, according to the Hillel I calendar, which was in use until the 4th century C.E. when the Hillel II calendar was adopted. The Hillel II calendar, the calendar presently used, lists September 23 as the Day of Atonement for the year 1844, due to the fact that the Hillel II calendar begins the year with the new moon nearest the spring equinox, rather than beginning the year with the new moon after the equinox.

In 27 C.E. the Day of Atonement occurred on a Holy 7th-day Sabbath when the Messiah declared, "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears", after reading the Jubile prophecy of Isaiah 61. This was the 10th day of the 7th month of the Jewish sacred year. The requirements for this day were--no work whatsoever,; whereas, the requirement for the lunar "shadow" Sabbaths was a "no servile work" stipulation.​

Three and one half years later, at the time of the Passover, all these lunar "shadow" Sabbaths counted from the new moon of the first month, occurred on their antitype--the 7th day Sabbath. This occurred in 31 C.E. They were then termed, "high days", because the shadow fell on the reality, the type met the antitype. Some confuse the two kinds of Sabbaths, and therefore, they cannot understand the difference between the type and the antitype.​

Please notice that there are 50 days from and including the Wave Sheaf, to, and including, the Day of Pentecost. The 7 lunar "shadow" Sabbaths within these 50 days, were exactly 7 days apart, beginning the count with the day of the Wave Sheaf. They were all calculated from the first new moon of spring. They were not calculated from the second or third new moon.

Whenever the lunar "shadow" Sabbaths came on 7th-day Sabbaths, the requirements for absolutely no work whatsoever, would take precedent over the requirements for the lunar "shadow" Sabbaths.

These lunar "shadow" Sabbaths which occurred on the new moon, on the 15th day of the month, on the 22nd day and on the 29th day of the first month, are very clearly specified in the Bible, to be "Sabbaths" (Leviticus 23:15, 16)​

"besides the Sabbaths of the Lord." Leviticus 23:38, 39. This shows that these lunar "shadow" Sabbaths were something other than the 7th-day Sabbath of the Lord.

LUNAR SABBATHS
The theory that we are to keep lunar Sabbaths in place of observing the seventh-day Sabbaths, is not truth. But God did design the old sanctuary system with "Sabbaths" that were calculated from the new moon of the first month and from the new moon of the seventh month only. These were days which were prophetic or a prophecy of the 7th-day Sabbath, even though they came on other days of the week. In certain years they coincided with the 7th-day Sabbath, and in those years they were termed, "high day" or high Sabbaths (John 19:31). When the Messiah was crucified in 31 C.E. these "prophetic" Sabbaths coincided with 7th-day Sabbaths. They aligned with the weekly 7th-day Sabbath, as that is what they were prophetic of. That is what they had represented ever since they were instituted in the time of Moses.



The theory of the "lunar Sabbatarians" that the lunar Sabbaths replace the weekly 7th-day Sabbath and that they are calculated from EVERY NEW MOON is a deception and is easily disproved by the instructions in Leviticus 23.



Leviticus 23:6, 11, 15,16-show all the lunar Sabbaths in the spring feasts are scheduled by the first day (new moon) of the first month only.



23:6 "...on the fifteenth day of the same month [is] the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD:" KJV



The next verse identifies this 15th day as a "Sabbath", and the Wave Sheaf offering, which is the 16th day of this first month falls on the morrow after this "lunar" Sabbath.



23:11 "And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it." KJV


23:15 "And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: "KJV

23:16 "Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days;" KJV




Verse 15 shows that these "lunar" Sabbaths are in exact 7 day sequences, calculated solely from the new moon of the first month, and this count continues for 49 days up to the 50th day, which was the day of Pentecost or Feast of Weeks.



Thus it can be plainly seen that the "lunar Sabbatarian" theory is only conjecture and has no basis, whatsoever, in the Scriptures, as this theory shows the new moon, or first day of each month resetting the count of the "lunar" Sabbaths, so that the 1st, the 8th, the 15th, the 22nd, and the 29th day of each month are "lunar" Sabbaths. This is an absolute impossibility from the lunar cycle prospective, as well as, contradicting the "lunar" Sabbath sequence in Leviticus 23.

The Wednesday Crucifixion Theory originated with Herbert W. Armstrong, according to my understanding, and was promoted by him. To arrive at his conclusion, he had contacted the U.S. Naval Observatory for the timing of the Passover for the year, 31 C.E. The U.S. Naval Observatory, not being experts on the Hebrew calendars, reported to him when the conjunction of the moon nearest the spring equinox had occurred, assuming the Hebrew month began with the conjunction.

Using the conjunction of the moon rather than the first visible sliver, resulted in their conclusion that the fourteenth day of this first month fell on Wednesday in the year, 31 C.E.

The problem with this conclusion is that no Hebrew calendar of that era began the year until after the spring equinox. The Hillel I calendar, the Hebrew calendar used until the middle of the fourth century, always began the first month of the sacred year at the first new moon after the spring equinox. Thus the true beginning of the new year would have been one month later than the new moon that was used by the U.S. Naval Observatory in determining the fourteenth day of the first month.

The conjunction of the moon was not normally taken to be the first day of the month, in the Hillel I calendar, unless by so doing, the new moon wouldcoincide with the 7th -day Sabbath. This same method, in determining the timing of the feast days is also used in the Hillel II calendar, “Hebcal”, if any of the feasts of the seventh month can be scheduled to coincide with the 7th-day Sabbath,resulting in the day being termed a ”high Sabbath”.

The traumatic fulfillment of the feast days in 31 C.E., when all the lunar “shadow” Sabbaths occurred on their anti-type, the 7th-day Sabbaths, at the time that the Messiah fulfilled these feast days to the very letter, had such a profound influence on the Jewish nation, that ever since this occurrence, the Passover feast has never been scheduled to occur on the preparation day (Friday).

The new moon of the first month is never recognized when it does coincide with the 7th-day Sabbath, from that time onward. It is always advanced or delayed a day or so to bypass the Sabbath new moon. This can be verified simply by checking the perpetual Hebrew calendar, the Hillel II calendar, “Hebcal”, which shows the feast day schedule for thousands of years, giving the exact day of the week when each feast day will occur.

Together with the traditional record, this evidence fully supports the Biblical account of these events as they took place.

This is what I wrote in my book, Exploring the Heavenly Sanctuary (Adventist Enterprises - Home)

“Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day—things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.” (NASB)


Some theologians have cited this verse to claim that the weekly Sabbath has been abolished; there are a number of problems with this claim:


a) The Greek does not use the definite article for the word Sabbath; it can be translated as “a Sabbath day”, or “Sabbath days” depending on whether it is a Greek plural or a singular Aramaic transliteration, which is determined by the context. If Paul had wanted to refer specifically to the weekly Sabbath he could have used the definite article and said, “the Sabbath”.


b) The use of the term shadow cannot be applied to the weekly Sabbath because it is a memorial of Creation and will be celebrated in the New Earth (Genesis 2:2-3; Isaiah 66:22-23). The term shadow is only applied to the ritual Sabbaths which involved animal sacrifices. In the Jewish calendar there were seven ritual Sabbath days, such as the first and last day of Passover, and the Day of Atonement. These ceremonial Sabbaths were instituted in the time of Moses and ended at the cross. Albert Barnes a Presbyterian commentator wrote:


“There is no evidence from this passage that he [Paul] would teach that there was no obligation to observe any holy time, for there is not the slightest reason to believe that he meant to teach that one of the ten commandments had ceased to be binding on mankind. … He had his eye on the great number of days which were observed by the Hebrews as festivals, as a part of their ceremonial and typical law, and not to the moral law, or the ten commandments. No part of the moral law—no one of the ten commandments could be spoken of as ‘a shadow of good things to come.’ These commandments are, from the nature of moral law, of perpetual and universal application.”


c) The term “a Sabbath day” does not have to refer to the weekly Sabbath as some have claimed because the Greek word for “festival” (heorte) was used only for those festivals which involved a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. The Hebrews equivalent “chag” is related to the Arabic “haj” which is used for pilgrimages. The word “heorte” did not cover all the ceremonial Sabbaths, this was why the word for “a Sabbath day” was needed to make the expression complete. The Day of Atonement was called in Hebrew “an appointed time” (moed) but never a “festival” (chag); therefore the term “festivals and new moons” is incomplete. A further expression, “a Sabbath day” was needed to make the formula complete to cover all the ritual days.


d) By looking closely at the Epistle to the Colossians we can reconstruct the context, to better understand the meaning of Colossians 2:16-17:

One of the first elements points to a form of angelology. The Colossian heresy appears to have involved calling on angels as mediators between man and God (Col. 2:18). This is why Paul speaks of Jesus being over all principalities and powers (Col. 2:15), this kind of belief or angelology is known from Jewish writings of that era. Another element was strict adherence to certain diets and ascetic practices. In Colossians 2:16 the term “meat” is applied to all food, it is not confined specifically to unclean or clean foods; this appears to be an ascetic prohibition (Col. 2:21). The idea being if you punish your body enough you will get nearer to God. This stems from the Greek philosophy that material things are evil, so if you are very strict (Col. 2:23) and don’t eat certain foods and observed certain rituals and days you would become more holy and by calling on angel mediators in the spirit realm, they could help you in your spiritual journey. It sounds very similar to the modern New Age philosophy, but resulted in a religion that denied Christ as our personal Saviour. It was essentially an early form of Gnosticism, which focused more on knowledge but lacked true morality and in effect was salvation by works rather than in Christ. Given the context of this heresy, it seems unlikely that Paul was calling for the abolition of the weekly Sabbath. He was speaking against angelology, asceticism, and legalistic ritual practices. The solution was in Christ our Saviour, we don’t need angels, ascetic practices or to observe ritual days in order to be saved. What we should do however is to live a moral life (Col. Ch. 3) something the Gnostics often failed to do. We should put our faith not in strict diets, animal sacrifices or angels but in Christ.


It is clear that Paul endorsed the moral law and godly living (Romans 7:12; Titus 2:12) but at the same time did not want believers trying to their earn salvation by keeping days which involved animal sacrifices which were a shadow of things to come. There is nothing in the Epistle to the Colossians to countenance the abolition of the weekly Sabbath.

First, I would point out that there is a time element in connection with the “MYSTERY” of God, as brought out in the text you gave--”But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the “MYSTERY” of God should be finished....” Revelation 10:7

This next text reinforces this time element again.


“But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son,...” Galatians 4:4


“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:1 “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.” 1 Thessalonians 5:4


Jesus told His disciples that it was given unto them to know the mystery of the kingdom. Yes, there are things that are secret, known to God only, but that which is revealed belongs to us and to our children forever. One of the secret things not yet revealed, is the “day and the hour of the coming of the Son of Man,” which the Father will reveal to us at the appointed time, according to the prophecies of Moses.


The prophecies of Moses are the foundation to understand all prophecies, both in the events foretold and for understanding the precise time when these prophecies would be fulfilled.

The focus of my questions deals with this time element from the prophecies of Moses.

These prophecies show such precise timing, in that, they reveal:


the exact hour of the day

the exact day of the week

the exact day of the month

the exact month of the year

the exact year within the Sabbatical cycle of years

the exact Sabbatical cycle of years within the Jubile cycle of years

and the exact Jubile cycle.



The Messiah often referred to this precision in the prophecies ,when He spoke to the disciples and said, “My time is not yet come,” John 7:6, or “My time is at hand.” Matthew 26:18, and other similar phrases.

The statement He made when He announced His public ministry. “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.” Luke 4:21. He had just read the Jubile prophecy of Isaiah 61, stopping in the middle of the sentence, omitting the portions of the prophecy that apply to the last Jubile at the end of time.


The first coming of the Messiah did not fulfill all of the prophecies given in the old sanctuary system. He only fulfilled the types relating to the first advent. In this system there are types which relate to the second advent, as well, that must be fulfilled in the same manner as the first advent types—not only as to the event, but, also, as to the exact and precise time that they were rehearsed in the annual ceremonies for so many centuries.


“Because He hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness...” Acts 17:31


The 12 annual “Sabbaths” in the King James Version dispersed among the feast days, are the “Sabbaths” mentioned in Colossians 2:16, 17, as “shadows” of things to come. These 12 show where the 7th-day Sabbath would be in relation to the great events in the plan of salvation when these events would be fulfilled.

It was the day after the 7th-day Sabbath (Matthew 28:1).

(b) The7th day of the feast of Unleavened Bread is never called a “Sabbath” because this would disrupt the 7 day weekly cycle that God instituted. In the typical system the “shadow” Sabbaths followed a 7-day sequence, as well. Therefore, the 7th day of Unleavened Bread would be only 6 days from a day named as a “Sabbath” previously, and also, the very next day is the first Sabbath in the 7 Sabbath-count to the day before the day of Pentecost.

(b) Through the Messiah's fulfillment of the types relating to the first advent, we have the interpretation for the fulfillment of the types relating to His second advent.

The new moon of the 7th month falling on a 7th day Sabbath causes all 4 of the “shadow” Sabbaths in the fall feasts to occur on 7th-day Sabbaths, as well, although not all in that same year. See the complete answer under Question 10.

The Day of Atonement is always called a “Sabbath”, because it met fulfillment and will be fulfilled on the 7th-day Sabbath. When the Messiah read the Jubile prophecy on the Day of Atonement on a 7th-day Sabbath in the synogague, and then pronounced, “This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears.” Luke 4:21, the Day of Atonement met its 7th-day Sabbath fulfillment. His stopping in the middle of the sentence, and not reading the phrase pertaining to the “day of vengeance of our God”, shows that the Day of Atonement has a future 7th-day Sabbath fulfillment at the time of the day of vengeance.

Since the Day of Atonement is the only feast day with extra-special significance in two consecutive years, the Sabbatical year and the year of Jubile, and since the other fall feasts have extra-special significance only in the Sabbatical year, this necessitates that the Day of Atonement must occur on the 10th day of the 7th month, in order for there to be a perfect 7-day sequence from the Feast of Trumpets, the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles and the eighth day of the Feast of Tabernacles to the Day of Atonement of the Jubile year, when all the slaves were set free, ending the entire prophetic cycle.


The Fall Feasts are prophesied to be fulfilled in a Sabbatical year because of the extra-special prophetic ceremonies that were to be performed only in the Sabbatical year (Deuteronomy 31:10-16). On the Day of Atonement a certain class of Hebrew slaves were also set free only in the Sabbatical year (Deuteronomy 15:1, 12) The year of release is the Sabbatical year.


(b) There is only one feast day that has extra-special significance in more than just one year. That feast day is the Day of Atonement, which has extra-special significance in the Sabbatical year, but, its greatest significance is in the Jubile year, which always follows a seventh Sabbatical year.


It is in the Jubile year that the Day of Atonement follows a perfect 7-day sequence from the last feast day (the 8th day of the Feast of Tabernacles) of the Sabbatical year


This is the reason that the Day of Atonement must be on the 10th day of the 7th month, in order to have a perfect 7-day sequence in all the “shadow” Sabbaths of the fall feasts in the years of their greatest significance, the Sabbatical and the Jubile years, so that all four of the fall feast days occur on a 7th-day Sabbath. Of course, the 7th-day Sabbath fulfillment in the fall feasts can only occur if the new moon of the 7th month falls on a 7th-day Sabbath in the 7th Sabbatical year, the year before the grand fulfillment of the Jubile year.

These “shadow” Sabbaths in Colossians 2:16, 17 are shadows or prophecies of 7th-day Sabbaths. A shadow cannot make a shadow. Therefore, the “shadow” Sabbaths are caused by the real 7th-day Sabbath and are shadows of it. The 7th-day Sabbath cannot be a “shadow”, or a type, or a prophecy, because it is the substance that created the “shadows”.

The Bible says that the Messiah died on the preparation day, the day prior to the 7th-day Sabbath, and also, the day before the lunar "shadow" Sabbath (the "shadow" Sabbaths listed in Colossians 2:16,17). You might see a paradox if you don't understand the difference between, as well as, the principles used in determining the feast day schedule in the two Hebrew calendars, Hillel I and Hillel II. The Hillel I calendar was used until the middle of the 4th century C.E. Therefore, it was the calendar in use during the time that the Messiah was on earth.


In using the principles for determining the feast day schedule under the Hillel I calendar, in 31 C.E., we find that the first sliver of the new moon would have been visible Friday evening on the 13th of April (Gregorian calendar) at the beginning of the 7th-day Sabbath.


That would have been the first day of the first month of the year, making April 14 (Gregorian calendar) a 7th-day Sabbath. And the Passover occurred on the 14th day of this first month(Hillel I calendar) which was on Friday, the 27th of April (Gregorian calendar).


Since the Hebrews counted the day beginning in the evening, the night before, the day actually began in the evening on Thursday, the 26th of April (Gregorian calendar) in 31 C.E. The "shadow" Sabbath began on the preparation day in the evening of the 27th of April (Gregorian calendar) making the 28th of April, the "shadow" Sabbath. Of course, that particular year, the 28th of April was also, a 7th-day Sabbath. Again, the day begins the night before at sunset.


In the Hillel I calendar, as in the Hillel II calendar, the first visible sliver is often used to determine the first day of the month, however, occasionally, the new moon near the point of conjunction is used for this purpose, and the moon is not visible at that point. This would be the case when the "shadow" Sabbath and its anti-type, the 7th-day Sabbath, could fall on the exact same day, such as, at the new moon of the seventh month or when the tenth day of the seventh month, also a "shadow" Sabbath, could fall on the 7th-day Sabbath, again, the type occurring on the anti-type.


William Miller used the ancient Karaite calendar which was the Hillel I calendar, the same calendar in use until the middle of the 4th century C.E. It calculated the year to begin with the first new moon after the spring equinox rather than the new moon nearest the spring equinox, which is the difference between Hillel I and Hillel II. This was necessary, in order to observe the Biblical requirement of using ripe barley in the Wave Sheaf offering.


William Miller observed Sunday and he had no concern over the "shadow" Sabbaths or the 7th-day Sabbath at that time. His use of the ancient calendar would never have fixed Passover to always fall on the preparation day, the 6th day of the week, Friday,--as this calendar was a lunar-based calendar, and therefore, caused Passover to fall on a different day of the week each year. But the day following Passover was specified to always be a lunar "shadow" Sabbath, even though it moved to a different day of the week each year.

Exactly, and precisely, the same way as under the Hillel II calendar for the year 2028, for the Day of Atonement to fall on the 7th day Sabbath, the new moon had the same percentage of illumination as the new moon of 31 C.E. when the Passover came on Friday.

The principles used in scheduling the feasts under Hillel I, are basically, the same as the principles used in the Hillel II calendar, the only difference being that the Hillel II calendar uses the new moon nearest the spring equinox for the beginning of the sacred year, and under the Hillel I, the new moon after the spring equinox was used. The principles under Hillel I were used until the middle of the 4th century C.E.

Neither the Hillel I or the Hillel II calendar ever scheduled a Passover on Friday again, after 31 C.E., when the traumatic events of the fulfillment of the spring feasts occurred at the time of the crucifixion of the Messiah.

No, it was definitely observed on the 13th in 31 C.E. Looking at the new moon of the 7th month of the sacred year, Rosh Hashana, September, 2028, you will notice that the percentage of illumination is identical to the new moon of April, 31 C.E., which was the first new moon of the sacred year. Whenever the Hebrews use the term, "high day", such as the 15th of the first month in 31 C.E., they are referring to the "shadow" Sabbaths falling on the same day as the 7th-day Sabbath. "(for that Sabbath was an high day,)" John 19:31. Under Hillel I and under Hillel II calendars there was often a slight adjusting of the schedule to cause the "shadow" Sabbaths and the 7th-day Sabbaths to align whenever possible.

Another point to note is that this year, 31 C.E. was prophesied in Daniel's prophecy to occur in the middle of the 70th week of years, which it did, exactly 3 and 1/2 years after the Day of Atonement of the Jubile year in 27 C.E. when the Messiah declared His public ministry. The Jubile year was always the first year in a week of years.

Of course, depending on the perturbations of the moon, the new moon sometimes is not visible for up to 33 hours after conjunction, but, most often, in 24 hours, and sometimes earlier. Again, this depends upon the perturbations.

Colossians 2:16,17 is the text from the Holy Bible that is my source. That is as Jewish as you can get. The God of the New Testament is the same God as the Old Testament. The ten commandments in the New Covenant are exactly the same as in the Old Covenant, which was a shadow of the ten commandments in the heavenly sanctuary.

A casual look at the perpetual Hebrew calendar “HEBCAL” will show that all 4 Sabbaths of the fall feasts very often occur on seventh day Sabbaths together in two consecutive years. For example, look at these years listed in the list below. Of course, in most years they have no special significance, it is only when this phenomena occurs in the 49th and 50th years that it would have potential significance.

For example in the year 2003 the “Feast of Trumpets”, the first day of the “Feast of Tabernacles” and the eighth day of the “Feast of Tabernacles” all fell on Holy seventh day Sabbaths , and the very next year in 2004 the “Day of Atonement” occurred on the Holy seventh day Sabbath also, and the exact same thing can be seen in the two consecutive years listed in the list bellow taken from “HEBCAL” (the perpetual Hebrew calendar HII). William Miller didn't move the Sabbath or anything else in his calculations of the 2300-day (year) prophecy. The Sabbath was not an issue in the calculations at all at that time. It was based entirely on Daniel's prophecy. William Miller used the principles under Hillel I, as those were the principles in use in 31 C.E. and continued to be used until the middle of the 4th century C.E.

About the photos of the new moon's illumination, with the technology available today, one can make the illumination of the new moon appear wherever its convenient to support any theory.

In His teaching, the Messiah pointed to the importance of believing the prophets that had been sent, especially drawing attention to the writings of the great prophet, Moses.


John 5:46, 47 "For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?"


In general we, as God's people, have been satisfied with the fact that since we are no longer under the old covenant, the writings of Moses have no relevance; we feel that we have 1844, not realizing that we lose the great significance of 1844, by not believing in the unfolding of truth in the writings of Moses.


The consequence of this unbelief is ultimate rejection of even the Messiah's words, even 1844, which was "the bright light" that shone all along the path the people of God were traveling to the Holy City.


"On this path the advent people were traveling to the city which was at the farther end of the path. They had a bright light set up behind them at the beginning of the path, which an angel told me was the "midnight cry." [See Matthew 25:6.] This light shone all along the path, and gave light for their feet, so that they might not stumble.

"If they kept their eyes fixed on Jesus, who was just before them, leading them to the city, they were safe. But soon some grew weary, and said the city was a great way off, and they expected to have entered it before. Then Jesus would encourage them by raising His glorious right arm, and from His arm came a light which waved over the advent band, and they shouted "Alleluia!" Others rashly denied the light behind them, and said that it was not God that had led them out so far. The light behind them went out, leaving their feet in perfect darkness, and they stumbled and lost sight of the mark and of Jesus, and fell off the path down into the dark and wicked world below." E.G. WHITE SAYS PROPHECIES OF DANIEL 11 & 12 REPEAT


Here are several quotations from the Spirit of Prophecy, some of them taken from the article in the Review and Herald, written by Elder Don Neufeld in 1976. These show that prophecies have been fulfilled in prophetic time, and that these same prophecies will be repeated. Since “..prophetic time closed in 1844,...” Early Writings, p. 243, the future fulfillment of these prophecies must be in literal time.


"The world is stirred with the spirit of war. The prophecy of the eleventh chapter of Daniel has nearly reached its complete fulfillment. Soon the scenes of trouble spoken of in the prophecies will take place." 9T 14
Elder Don Neufeld wrote an article published in the Review and Herald, July 8, 1976, when he was one of the editors. The title is, "Light on Daniel 11".


I'll quote:
"Recently our attention was directed to a letter Ellen White wrote in 1904 in which there is a slight amplification of the statement quoted from Testimonies, volume 9, above, She comments, "We have no time to lose. Troublous times are before us. The world is stirred with the spirit of war. Soon the scenes of trouble spoken of in the prophecies will take place. The prophecy in the eleventh [chapter] of Daniel has nearly reached its complete fulfillment. Much of the history that has taken place in fulfillment of this prophecy will be repeated. In the thirtieth verse a power is spoken of that 'shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant. And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strenth, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.. And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

"'And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help; but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

"'And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.' Dan. 11:30-36.

"Scenes similar to those described in these words will take place. We see evidence that Satan is fast obtaining the control of human minds, who have not the fear of God before them. let all read and understand the prophecies of this book, for we are now entering upon the time of trouble spoken of:--

"'At that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time they people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.' Dan. 12:1-4.

"The Spirit of the Lord is being withdrawn from the world. It is no time now for men to exalt themselves."----Letter 103, 1904 pp. 5, 6.
Elder Neufeld continues:
"The phrases "will be repeated," and "will take place" point to the future. These comments suggest that whereas the prophecy has had a valid fulfillment in the past, much of the history will be repeated."
After Daniel sees most of the vision of chapter 12, he records two questions asked by someone of the man clothed in linen who was upon the waters of the river, quoted in Testimonies to Ministers, p.114, 115. Ellen White states that twice Daniel asked, "HOW LONG TILL THE END OF TIME?" This statement is recorded below.


"A wonderful connection is seen between the universe of heaven and this world. The things revealed to Daniel were afterward complemented by the revelation made to John on the Isle of Patmos. These two books should be carefully studied. Twice Daniel inquired, How long shall it be to the end of time? TM 114
"And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And He said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days." TM 115
The answers given to Daniel' questions are the 1260 days, 1290 days, and the 1335 days. The 1260 days have had previous fulfillments, one in prophetic time--a day for a year, which was 1260 years of the Dark Ages, and, also, in literal time--a day for a day. The evidence indicates that in the future these time periods will, again, have a fulfillment in literal time.

We know that at the anti-typical Jubilee (Biblical Jubilee), the saints are delivered from the death decree, the ruling power of the beast is over, and God's voice gives the day and hour of the second coming. Daniel 12:7 shows that the 1260 days ends at that time when the power of the holy people is scattered.


"It was at midnight that God chose to deliver His people....And as God spoke the day and the hour of Jesus' coming and delivered the everlasting covenant to His people, He spoke one sentence, and then paused, while the words were rolling through the earth. The Israel of God stood with their eyes fixed upward, listening to the words as they came from the mouth of Jehovah and rolled through the earth like peals of loudest thunder. It was awfully solemn.....
Then commenced the jubilee, when the land should rest...." Early Writings, 285, 286
The "abomination of desolation" that begins the last 1260 days in Daniel 11:31, would be described as, the mark of the beast, in Revelation 14:9.


"The time is not far distant, when, like the early disciples, we shall be forced to seek a refuge in desolate and solitary places. As the siege of Jerusalem by the Roman armies was the signal for flight to the Judean Christians, so the assumption of power on the part of our nation [the United States] in the decree enforcing the papal sabbath will be a warning to us. " Maranatha 180

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." When do her sins reach unto heaven? When the law of God is finally made void by legislation." Maranatha 179

"The Sabbath question will be the issue in the great conflict in which all the world will act a part. [Revelation 13:4-10 quoted.] This entire chapter is a revelation of what will surely take place [Revelation 13:11, 15-17 quoted]" (MS 88, 1897). 7BC 979
In the statement above, written in 1897, almost 100 years after the 1260 years of prophetic time had ended, Ellen White is pointing to the future for the fulfillment of the ENTIRE chapter of Revelation 13. In verse 5, which she quotes, the beast is given power for 42 months, to make war with the saints and cause everyone to worship him whose names are not written in the book of life. This 42 months is the same period as the 1260 days.


I cannot be positive enough on the 1290 days and the 1335 days, to make a statement concerning them at this time.

It amazes me that people pick just a certain part of the sentence or the paragraph and want it to be understood. It can't work that way and you know if someone just took a part of your thought you would not be very happy! So I am not trying to disrespect you but we have to look at the complete thought! Col 2:14-17
Paul makes this very simple and would never go against the Most High and we shall see. Paul said first that certain things were blotted out which was against all of us and back then as well and contrary. Heb 10:1
That was what were contrary to all the people of the Old Testament including Adam and Eve to us today. Everybody had to sacrifice this temporary ordinance started after sin in the garden. Man just kept on sinning so more ordinances were giving to fully illustrate Yashua's sacrifice for man!
Heb 10:3-8

The English word law is very complicated and confusing because every word that came out of the mouth of Elohim were laws! Unless Yahweh gave a time that they would end they will stand for all time. Yes He did speak that these Sacrificial laws or ordinances would end. Dan 9:27

Here is exactly what Paul said that these sacrifice and oblations or killing lambs, goats, bulls, rams, red heifer, pigeons, turtle doves, meal offerings, and other libations would cease! Now just think about it for a minute when the Savior died on the cross and the priest was just about to kill a lamb, the curtain were ripped from the top to the bottom. The lamb escaped and later on the Jews would not obey what Yahweh said had ended with the death of Yashua. Yahweh destroyed the Temple Himself because it too was not needed anymore. Do you see a Jew sacrificing they can't because it was taking out of the way!!! Continue Yashua showed that He had triumph over Satan and his evil foes when He rose and they could not stop Him!
Now Paul continues and say these are the things no one should judge you on because of the triumph of Yashua which these are not nailed to the cross and they are:
Meat and drink which what we take for Yashua supper, the holy convocation days, the new moon, and finally the Sabbaths because all these are the outlines (adumbration) or things to come because they represent the body or church of Yashua. Do you think that Paul would misrepresent what Yahweh said to do? No he would not and this is what he said to prove it. Gal 1:6-12
Finally, "the" is an article and means something specific and he already said holy day which are the Feast days, here he was referring to seventh day Sabbath. Read Lev 23:1-4; Psa 81:3, 4; Psa 89:34; Isa 66:22, 23; Mal 3:6; Mat 5:19; John 4:15, 21, 15:10; Rom 2:26-29, 3:31, 7:7, 12; 1Jn 5:2; Rev 12:17, 14:12, 22:14.

Here you must start from the thought which I will give:

You have here 1260 which is literally 3 years and 6 months (Rev 11:2,3) and this time begins the Time of Trouble. Once it ends probation will ended and the thirty days fits perfectly with Rev 17:12 it is prophetically one hour or 60 days. The beast will have 30 days before probation and he with the ten kings will have 30 days after probation. The beast and the harlot are two different characters in the Bible. Remember the harlot at one time was riding the beast. The harlot and the Gentile are the same person and two evil foes will clash in the end of time. These two evil foes will fight the battle of Armageddon and the beast/man will win with the 10 kings who will become powerful during this time but give their power to the beast/man. The false prophet will make an image that will actually appear to speak and the beast/man will control who can buy or sell not the harlot. She will be destroyed along with Jerusalem. I know most do not want to hear this but you need to read history and who had Jerusalem at one time. This same church or power will get it again because history repeats only worst each time. There will be a new Jerusalem coming out of Heaven!
If you take the 3335 days and subtract it from 1260 it leaves 45 days which is one month and fifteen days. The angel said clearly that blessed are the ones who are able to stand up until this time. The Father will announce the time of His Son coming and only the saints will understand but the wicked will not. Those last 15 days will be the end of this world because at the end the Son of man will gather His people.
Now for some of you I did not give you any dates but time after the Time of Trouble because you nor I know when this time will begin, however signs are showing that it is nearer than we think. I urge all who want their names written in the Book of Life to get ready!

Have you been introduced to this evidence on the 2300 days and the 1260 days presented here?


Were you aware that the Pope and the President of the United States, Ronald Reagan, were, both shot in assassination attempts in 1981, both, consequently, recovered from their deadly wounds? Is this just a coincidence? Or is there prophetic significance to these events?




God's everlasting covenant was originated to bring back the human race into full harmony with God and the whole universe. This everlasting covenant was revealed in the rehearsals of the old covenant feast system and demonstrated through the fulfillment of the same feast days in the new covenant.




When God gave man the choice to know evil, He also, made available the method of recovery from that evil..




“The salvation of the human race has ever been the object of the councils of heaven. The covenant of mercy was made before the foundation of the world. It has existed from all eternity, and is called the everlasting covenant. So surely as there never was a time when God was not, so surely there never was a moment when it was not the delight of the eternal mind to manifest His grace to humanity.” FLB 76.




A thorough knowledge of the details of the descriptive elements contained in the rehearsals of the feast days within the ancient Hebrew system is essential in recognizing the fulfillment in the new covenant. Some of these feast days were meticulously fulfilled at Christ's first advent, and some of which have never met their perfect fulfillment, according to the prophecies of Moses and of the prophet, Ellen G. White.




“And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.” Genesis 17:7




“Then were the words spoken: "The Lord hath sworn, and He will not repent. Father and Son are pledged to fulfill the terms of the everlasting covenant. God so loved the world, that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Christ was not alone in making His great sacrifice. It was the fulfillment of the covenant made between Him and His Father before the foundation of the world was laid. With clasped hands they had entered into the solemn pledge that Christ would become the surety for the human race if they were overcome by Satan's sophistry.” FLB 76




The everlasting covenant involves the fall feast days in their literal fulfillment of 22 days, as much as it involved the fulfillment of the spring feasts in their literal 52 days in 31 C.E.




Our faith and belief in the prophetic 2300 days (years), ending on Tuesday, October 22, 1844, the Day of Atonement, cannot nullify the future fulfillment of the fall feasts according to the specifications given to Moses and referred to by, the prophet, Ellen White, when she states,


“These types were fulfilled, not only as to the event, but as to the time....In like manner the types relating to the second advent MUST BE fulfilled at the time pointed out in the symbolic service.” GC 399. (Emphasis mine)




This statement specifies a literal 22-day setting, when the “shadow” Sabbaths (Colossians 2:16, 17) within the fall feast days, fall on their anti-type, 7th day Sabbaths, in the 7th Sabbatical and Jubilee years. This future fulfillment will involve the beginning of the judgment of the living on a Day of Atonement, at the end of a literal 2300 days, at the time when the sanctuary will be cleansed. (Daniel 8:14).




As in the fulfillment of the 2300 prophetic days (years), the “going forth” of a commandment to “restore and build” Jerusalem begins this time period. (Daniel 9:27). This commandment must go forth in a first year in a typical week of years, as it did in 457 B.C.E.




With remarkable clarity, God has already given us the details of the future 2300 literal-day prophecy and its connection with the fulfillment of the fall feast days. During the 1980s, a prophetic milestone of unprecedented significance occurred, when, on Friday, June 27, 1980, a commandment “went forth” to “restore and build” Jerusalem via Reuters International News Service. Other national news agencies immediately rebroadcast this commandment during the entire day. The commandment contained provisions for the restoring of Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel and authorized special funding for its rebuilding and development. (See “Basic Law, Jerusalem, Capitol of Israel”) The year, 1980, was, also, the first year in a historical typical week of years.




2300 days later, the prophecy ends on the Day of Atonement, October 13, 1986, in a 7th Sabbatical year when all the “shadow” Sabbaths of the fall feasts fell on weekly 7th day Sabbaths in the 49th and 50th years. This rare alignment of the fall feast days was the first such alignment since the time when the Messiah walked this earth, nearly two thousand years ago. In this alignment, both, the ancient Hebrew calendar and the calendar used by the majority of the Hebrew people today, were in perfect agreement. The Biblical typical Jubilee began on the Sabbath Day of Atonement, October 3, 1987.



Again, paralleling the 2300 days (years), there was an amazing event marking the end of the first 70 weeks of this time period. On October 29, 1981, an amateur archeologist, Tom Crotser, and his companions announced to the world that they had found the ark of the covenant containing the ten commandments given to Moses. They had been camping on the mountain where Moses went up to see the inheritance of God, as recorded in 2 Maccabees 2:1-8 (1611 Edition King James Version). During the night, Tom Crotser was shown the exact location of the ark in a dream. He immediately awoke and informed his companions. They, then, proceeded to the spot, encountering some difficult digging before entering the chamber, in which was the ark of the covenant. They took pictures, but did not disturb any of the furnishings, and left.



As the seventy weeks were ending, there were some profound developments within the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Washington D.C.




The Seventh-day Adventist Church had applied for their trademark from the Patent Office of the United States Federal Government in Washington D.C., which they received the week following the end of the seventy weeks. When the Seventh-day Adventist Church applied for their “MARK” (trademark) from the federal government of the United States (the beast with the lamb-like horns, Revelation 13:12) they were issued Federal Document # 1177185 on November 10, 1981. The word “MARK” is capitalized and repeated four times in the original document.






“This is to certify that the records of the Patent and trademark Office show that
an application was filed in said office for registration of the Mark shown
herein, a copy of said Mark and pertinent data from the Application being
annexed hereto and made a part hereof, and there having been due compliance
with the requirements of the law and with the regulations prescribed...Upon
examination, it appeared that the applicant was entitled to have said Mark
registered under the Trademark Act of 1946, and the said Mark has been duly
registered this day in the Patent and Trademark Office on the Principal
Register....I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Patentand
Trademark Office to be affixed this tenth day of November, 1981.

The following three statements from the Spirit of Prophecy have a direct bearing on the events that were transpiring.




“When the Saviour saw in the Jewish people a nation divorced from God, He saw also a professed Christian Church united to the world and the papacy.” RH October 8, 1901




“The church will be weighed in the balances of the sanctuary. If her moral character and spiritual state do not correspond with the benefits and blessings God has conferred upon her, she will be found wanting.” 5 Testimonies 83




“In the balances of the sanctuary the Seventh-day Adventist church is to be weighed. She will be judged by the privileges and advantages that she has had. If her spiritual experience does not correspond to the advantages that Christ, at infinite cost, has bestowed on her, if the blessings conferred have not qualified her to do the work entrusted to her, on her will be pronounced the sentence: "Found wanting." By the light bestowed, the opportunities given, will she be judged. . . . “ 8 Testimonies 247



There was another major time prophecy fulfilling in precise synchronization with the prophecy of the 2300 days in the 1980s. It involved two distinctly separate Jubilees. One was God's historical Biblical Jubilee and the other, was the Pope's Jubilee, declared to be such, by the Pope, himself.




On Good Friday, April 20, 1984, the Apostolic Letter of John Paul II stated,




“As the Jubilee Year of Redemption draws to a close, my thoughts go out to that special land which is located in that place where Europe, Asia and Africa meet.....As this Jubilee Year of Redemption draws to a close, a year which we have celebrated with great spiritual joy whether in Rome or in all dioceses of the universal church, Jerusalem has been the ideal goal,....”




The A P Network news report given the day the Pope's Jubilee ended:




“One of the largest crowds ever gathered in St. Peter's Square for the Easter Sunday Mass. More than 350,000 people also watched as Pope John Paul II closed the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica. That gesture ended the extra-ordinary Holy Year of Redemption.” Kevin Castillo—A P Network News---Rome. April 22, 1984.




That which makes this event so astounding is that the Seventh-day Adventist Church heralded the Pope's Jubilee Year in their official church paper, “Adventist Review”, January 5, 1984, page 1-- “Year of the Lord's favor---1984--Let the trumpet sound; bells ring out for this new year—a year of jubilee.”




From the day that the Pope's Jubilee ended, when Pope John Paul II closed the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica on April 22, 1984, there were exactly 1260 days to God's Sabbath Jubilee, the Day of Atonement, October 3, 1987.




Even though these two prophecies, the 2300 days and the1260 days, occurred in absolutely perfect synchronization with the four Sabbaths of the fall feasts in the 49th and 50th year (the 7th Sabbatical and the Jubilee year), in the 1980s, these prophecies will yet have a future perfect fulfillment at the end of time




Ecclesiastes 3:15 “That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.”




Amos 3:7 “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”
