Because right now here is my list of the most important:
1. God, Jesus, the Bible, living a Holy life. God above all else.
2. Health, do everything to keep one healthy and fit. (Health is valued over money, health is priceless, health is life).
3. Family and friends (I always value friends and family over money) Nothing can replace friends or family.
What about God, Jesus, the Bible and living a holy life? What does "God above all else" mean, exactly?
Actually, regarding physical health, following Jesus has, for many, been very destructive. You might recall what happened to Jesus and his apostles: imprisonment, crucifixion, beheading, boiled in oil, etc.
Concerning keeping fit, consider Paul's words:
1 Timothy 4:7-10
7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself rather unto godliness.
8 For bodily exercise profits little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
When one is under the Spirit's control, unhealthy indolence and obesity are prevented, the Spirit acting to curb inordinate, fleshly desire on the one hand and instilling new, temperate, health-conscious habits of living characteristic of one who desires to be a good steward of the body God has given.
But God's priority is that believers "exercise themselves unto godliness," pursuing time in God's word and in prayer even if it means less time at the gym or on the treadmill. One's body has a time-limit, a due-date, in light of which one ought to prioritize its care. Maintain a healthy lifestyle, yes, but not out of fear of death, or out of some motive of vanity, but so that one's body doesn't become a hindrance to serving God, sickly and disabled by inactivity and poor diet, a visible testimony to one's lack of Spirit-control, undercutting one's witness for Christ.
Pertaining to friends and family:
Luke 14:25-27
25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,
26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 And whosoever does not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Luke 14:33
33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he has, he cannot be my disciple.
In these statements, Jesus indicated an order of priority, placing himself well above friends and family, as you seem to do in your list. There may be times in the life of a believer when, in pursuit of Christ, relationships with others close to us must be forsaken. (
Matthew 10:32-39) Count the cost is Christ's advice. (
Luke 14:28-32)
Now below are the things that are replaceable, and therefore not in the top 3 of important things
4. Politics (it is important to be a supporter of what the right thing is and what drives this country forward, no matter how small you perceive your influence to be.)
Do you see in the Bible any injunction for the Christian to be politically active and to prioritize such activity in their living?
5. Money and Success/Comfort
6. Maintenance of property (taking care of a car, and house so it doesn't fall apart)
7. Learning and Knowledge
I'd reverse the order of things here. Knowledge and learning are far more vital, more precious, than money, success and property kept in good condition. In fact, money and success and the accumulation of goods are often directly proportional to one's knowledge and learning. I don't mean necessarily just academic knowledge and learning, but the learning of skills such as welding, or heavy machine operation, or installation of electrical systems, or house construction, etc.
These are 7 huge things that are important that I can recognize, am I missing any?
Maybe. It's been observed that we are made, not for time, but for eternity. The Big Show, if you like, the Main Event of our existence, begins after we die and step into eternity. It is for this eternal afterlife that we are made and for which God is preparing us now. God urges us in his word to "look up" and fix our hearts upon heavenly, everlasting things, not this world that will one day be burnt up and replaced.
2 Peter 3:7-13
7 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.
11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness,
12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn!
13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
Colossians 3:1-4
1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Philippians 3:20-21
20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
21 who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.
Matthew 6:19-21
19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
20 "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
