What are the best Psalms for Praise?

I was looking over the Psalms and was wondering which would be the best praise psalms...I would like to memorize some to recite when I don't have my Bible with me....What would you suggest?

I don't know about the best praise psalms, but here are some examples of praise psalms (from a course I was on tonight!):
8, 24, 48, 65, 104, 113, 135, 145, 150

This has actually been turned into a song.

Knowing you, the best psalm you could sing is the one made new from your heart as you sing. Just let er rip.

Maybe something like, "PULL........Oh Lord I will Praise You...BAMM...................,PULL.......because You and You alone are worthy of praise.....BAMM"!!!

Psalm 1 - to remind you where to plant your roots.
Psalm 69 - when you are drowning and up to your neck in trouble.
Psalm 150 - when you just need to make some noise.

Psalm 151 for it's "praising God NOW" feel.

Actually, considering some of the old coots we shoot with...that might not be a bad idea! Would lend a essence of 'glory' to to that scent of gunpowder in the air....

I have to ask why nobody else has agreed with me about psalm 151 though.

Even if you don't find it in the bible version you read, I affirm you do have it.

I do quite abit of Psalms 151...most of the time.

But I like Psalms 91... when it looks rugged out there.

And Psalms 150 when being rowdy and noisy.

Psalm 103 is great for praise. I did memorise it once, but have got rusty.
121 is more manageable and very strengthening.

Here are a few scriptures that aren't found in psalms that I use to either praise or worship God ( there are many more). I'm sorry that my post doesn't match the subject of this thread but I figured that someone might find them useful.


1 chronicles 16:8-12

I like where David runs from dispair over sin to praise.....God inhabits our praise, and what better way to have audience than to enter His courts with praise.
