Hello brothers & sisters in Christ! I was curious to see which Christian authors & books some of you read on here. I'm reading Max Lucado "Come Thirsty" right now which is good! Another favorite of mine is Chris Hodges "Fresh Air". Hope to hear some of your choices, I'm always open to new suggestions of books to read!

I'm enjoying A Newly Crimsoned Reliquary by Donna Fletcher Crow. It is a part of her Monastery Murders.

I like anything by theologians Al Truesdale and William Greathouse. And I am also reading books on spiritual warfare by Charles Kraft.

I'll have to look into those theologians books but spiritual warfare books by Charles Kraft sound good! Are they intense (in a positive moving way) to read?

Indeed. You will not regret it. Keep in mind that he was a catholic, but a reformer as wel, so some of the references and treatment of holy communion may sound odd.

Everyone from the pope to billy graham have praised it!

They are written by Charles H. (Chuck) Kraft who is "retired from the faculty of the School of Intercultural Studies at Fuller Seminary (formerly the School of World Mission) after 40 years as professor of anthropology and intercultural communication. He taught anthropology, communication, contextualization, and spiritual dynamics (inner healing, deliverance, and spiritual warfare) to missionaries and prospective missionaries.

He holds degrees from Wheaton College (BA anthropology), Ashland Theological Seminary (BD theology), and Hartford Seminary Foundation (PhD anthropological linguistics). He served as a pioneer missionary among a tribal group (Kamwe/Higi) in northeastern Nigeria for three years followed by five years each on the faculties of Michigan State University and UCLA, teaching linguistics and African languages.

He is the author of more than 30 books and numerous articles in the fields of his expertise. He spends most of his time now ministering to those with emotional and spiritual problems and conducting deep healing (inner healing) seminars in churches worldwide. He has been used by God to lead thousands to spiritual and emotional freedom in Jesus Christ."

Thus what he writes is well researched and well written. I am working through two books so far - Defeating Dark Angels// and Deep Wounds, Deep Healing.

Those are DEFINITELY remarkable accolades & give his writing a very very strong & accurate foundation. He'll have to also be put on my list of authors!

Yes, and that is why I love reading them. Some books on spiritual warfare are written in a hokie manner or from questionable research or authority. But not these ones.

I picked up a book at my church library give away, just because it had a nice cover and looked new. Now I read it almost daily. I find it very uplifting, its main message is to put our trust in Jesus. I for one need a constant reminder of this. It is called Jesus Calling by Sara Young. It may be too hooky for some, but it speaks to me.
