What are some helpful versus for sexual purity?

My girlfriend and I are trying to save as much as we can for each other for Marriage.. What are some versus that could help with our struggle? As well as some things we can help to prevent going any further?

1CORINTHIANS.10:13:"there hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man. but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able, but with the temptation, make a way of escape that ye may be able to bear it".

1Thessalonians4:3-4:"For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that you should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor".

Proverbs2:11:"Whoever loves a pure heart and whoever speaks graciously has a king as his friend".

1Timothy4:12:"Don't let anyone look down on you for being young. Instead, make your speech, behavior, love, faith, and purity an example for other believers".

You know what standards you aspire to. That's great. Just recognise that love will desire sexual expression. That's how we are made. It's up to you both how you work that out. You are not 'sinful' because you feel sexual. it's just that the time between a commitment to someone and marriage requires careful management.

My wife and I unfortunately did not save ourselves for marriage, and it's something I really regret. You only get one shot at this, so I encourage you to keep up the effort. It will definitely be worth it!

It says in the bible that Jesus was tempted in every way as we were. That means he is a God who understands, who's been there, and who wants to walk with you to help you reach your goal (and His).

Apart from bible verses, I think another thing that is very helpful is to keep in touch with someone who can check up on how you're going. A close Christian friend, pastor, counsellor, or even someone here - who can check how you're going, encourage you, and help you along the way, because it's a journey!
