Norfolk turkey is turkey reared in Norfolk :)
I thought maybe there was a special quality.

Bread sauce is amazingly simple and tasty - it is simply creamy milk infused with onion and cloves, then with white breadcrumbs added to give a thick consistency.
Served over turkey and mashed potatoes?

Yes, it's a sauce like gravy and cranberry sauce. You wouldn't put it over the turkey, but on the side of the plate.

We don't serve a lot of mashed potatoes - just one small spoonful. We have roast potatoes and parsnips, as well as other seasonal veggies.

Hi, until last year we had the traditional american christmas dinner, turkey and ham with all the fixings!

But last year I made a decision do change the dinner (our family celebrates on Christmas eve so that my Son can spend Christmas with his future in laws ...a large family)

So we get together about Noon on Christmas Eve, open gifts and then have
SURF AND TURF

last year was steak and lobster here, this year at my sister in laws, steak and shrimp

For a couple of years I baked lasagna b/c I could prepare it beforehand. Then on Christmas Day I wasn't tied up in the kitchen all day. All I had to do was bake it, and make a salad.

I dont know exactly what we're having, but usually we have:

roasted goose
potato stuffing
red cabbage
broccoli, brussle sprouts, or cauliflower
Mmm...sounds excellent.

How do prepare your red cabbage? Care to share your recipe?

OK... I'm still deliberating...leaning towards a lobster bisque, prime rib, and a pear, toasted walnut and gorgonzola salad, and that mincemeat pie with brandy butter, and some other dessert...but that may change :p
Lobster bisque sounds wonderful.

This year for the family dinner (me, my Texan wife, my sister and my mom) we will have the usual Christmas dinner: differente kinds of cheese, olives, hams and salamis and the main course will be Risotto alla Milanese. The cake will be Panettone (typical northern Italian cake, yummy). :)

Ciao
