hahaha it's really lame, actually...she only eats Mexican food on Sundays, and so for Lent, she pledges to only eat Mexican food on Sundays. Sigh.
I definitely want to grow closer to the Lord during Lent, rather than focusing on the chimichangas haha
I'm going to make an effort to say Compline in the evenings. As far as fasting I am giving up meat, opulent deserts, and alcohol. I will have to do something for alms-giving but I am not sure what I'll put it towards. I am reading St Athanasius' "On the Incarnation."
You could force yourself to eat meat on those days![]()
gurneyhalleck1 said:That isn't happenin'! LOL...I actually did eat a little meat a couple weeks back. After being off it for so long, made me want to puke! LOL
Maybe I could listen to Justin Beiber as a penance![]()
I'm not sure any dessert I ever eat is "opulent?" It takes a lot to make a dessert opulent in my book!![]()
Opulent = chocolate. Non-opulent= tapioca pudding.
I don't eat a huge amount of meat either, and I don't fast from dairy because I'm still nursing the baby. So I need something to make the fast a bit of an effort. I have a real sweet tooth, so desserts are a trial.
that's epic.. I initially decided to give up Bowmore scotch ... and when I couldn't explain why just Bowmore without getting strange looks, I opted for a dry Lent.
