The one I might go to meets outside of church. Apparently, my Catholic Church has them, doesn't advertise them anywhere (it's not on their website even). I haven't been there in forever and wrote them about the lack of community, unless you're married, was why I quit (and I work most Sundays). They have lots for those people. Father Michael said he realized single people (especially my age, 45-up) have gotten the idea they aren't welcome much in many churches. So, they started Connect Groups. I've just never heard of them. I Googled it, but many churches call them that but are really small groups (Sunday School).

Well, there was nothing to the Connect Groups. 5 of the 9 groups were for couples. The other three were women. The only one for men was run by a guy in his late 20s and was for 20s/30s it sounded like it was for married men based on what she said. Apparently, Father Michael has no idea what his Connect Groups are. I told him I was looking for singles, 40s/50s. I have nothing in common with 20s/30s, except my girlfriend (She's 27--doesn't live here--and I'm 50--long story on that one...lol).

I read the Catholic Church usually has nothing for Singles and 40s/50s. Disappointing. I guess the Catholic Church is now my ex-church. Time to find something new.
