Harry Potter rocks. I've read all the books (Order of the Phoenix is by far the best--Ms. Rowling is a wonderful story teller) and my kids love the movies. So far, none have gone out and conjured up zwinglebug to do their evil bidding.

Yugi Oh is harmless. It reminds me of Dungeons and Dragons. Parents just need to monitor this stuff and let their kids know is all play and not real. My son has a stack of cards that he and his friends have battles with.

The card game my son is into right now is Texas Hold 'Em. We play a few hands every night and we watch the stuff on T.V. He just doesn't know when to fold. He's always holding out for a pair...

As was said about Freud's theories "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar". Just because demons are everywhere doesn't mean that they're in everything. If a game looks innocuous... it probably is. A healthy fear of evil is one thing. Letting it get to the point where you're paranoid to go out your front door is quite the other.

Actually, these things should not srike fear in everyones heart to the point of being paranoid. But to be on guard as the scriptures say. And not let Satan blind us from these things, because that is what he does. If we don't believe that there evil in doing things, we would not be on guard agaist the enemy. That is what Pope John Paul II, and Fr. Amorth are saying.
This warning should not srike fear or paranoya. But, it is a warning to stay away from things that could potentially invite an oppression.

Anyone read "The Screwtape Letters" by C S Lewis?
IMHO, it gives a brilliantly thought out illustration of how the devil and demons work in our lives...day to day, subtle, clever and invisible, as portrayed in Genesis, invading even our prayer to bring us safely to "Our Father below", as the tempter Screwtape referred to Lucifer. I'm far more worried about that in relation to my children and indeed myself, than anything I've read here.

I'll tell you what I do know, the main charater is a young boy who got a anchent puzzle in the shape of a piramid, when he put it together the spirit of an anichent pharoh went into him so they share the boys body. there are these objects called the millinum items and the evil people use them to take over the world, they take over peoples minds contorling them, (which reminds me a lot of demons) they also give user control over this place called the shadow realm, and they can trap peoples souls in there. to me it's boardering on some wierd religon, and its aimed at young kids. the force is difrent it doesn't seem dark, yugioh feels dark.

Good point, Bushido. That brings us back to the subject at hand: Witchcraft. Sorcery and witchcraft are akin to each other. Is witchcraft, which has its origins and only reason for existance rooted in satan worship, okay for us, as Christians, to play around with? Or should we listen to the Lord's very strong words about dabbling in the occult in any form, which can be found in abundance both sides of the Testamental Divide?
