What about the Vestry?

I want to get involved with the church a lot more. I think in the future I might want to become involved in some type of ministry.
I've started doing some readings and I want to do more. The Easter General Vestry meeting is coming up and the registry of vestry members is going to be updated at it.
I was thinking of going along and offering to help in some way. Is it a good idea to do so? What might I contribute?

At it's best, serving on the Vestry would give you practical insight into, and experience in, the ministry of service. In any event, it will yield insight into what it takes to keep a parish going.

If that is your desire, then you ought to make it known to your senior warden sometime before the elections.

Speaking only from my own limited experience, the current vestry has a pretty good idea of who they want nominated and elected before the elections are held.
