It was offered in all the Protestant translations prior to the KJV and including the KJV. The removal was most likely around the time of the Revivalists (1800's). So really not that bad. We're talking hundreds of years of it being in the English translations and less 100-less than 200yrs not.

The people to blame are not the early Protestants nor the translators nor those behind the translators. The people to blame would be the American radicals (Baptists, Methodists...and then the nutjobs that extended off of them).
