There is so much at times speculation, rumour, myths about so many from the bible but nothing really it seems about Lazarus!
What happened after he was broguht back to life? What did he do, when did he die again? Did he talk to the girl who was also brought back to life? Did he remember being dead?

Anyone know of any legends?

He ended up in Cyprus.

I believe it reads in John 12:10-11 that the Jewish priests wanted Lazarus dead, so he would have had to leave Judea along with his fellow Christians.

In the 9th century a tomb was found in Larnaca, Cyprus that read something to the effect of "Here lies Lazarus the Friend of Christ" and consequently a church was built upon it.

The website of that church can be found here in Greek and some English: Ayios Lazaros

Great questio! Btw, are non-Christians allowed to post on this board?
A minority of people believe that Lazarus is actually the beloved disciple and author of the 4th gospel.
Tis true.
Here is a thread I started on it awhile back.

Who was the Disciple that Jesus Loved

This person does an 8 page seried on his view of that disciple

Gospel of John? No, the beloved disciple authored the fourth gospel

This study presented two cases: the case as to why the Apostle John was not “the disciple whom Jesus loved”, the author of the fourth gospel, and the case for why that author was most likely Lazarus – all with God’s word being the only authority cited. Below is a summary to help you weigh the evidence so that you can render a verdict. (All of the verses were quoted earlier, so they will not be noted here.)

Mark 14:51 And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him: 52 And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

A linen cloth was used to wrap a body for burial in a tomb. Who is this young man and why would he be wearing a funeral cloth? Could it be Lazarus wearing his burial cloth as a badge of honor and a sign he was raised from the dead?

BTW Another candidate for the writer of John is Mary Magdalen but John shows signs of being edited to bring about a different chronology not supported by the other Gospels.

I read that from some publication, but now I can't remember where.

The story of Lazarus is only found in John, right?

John is not a Gospel, but a theological argument against Docetists (sp?), a heretical group that was arguing that Jesus did not have a physical form. It was written after the destruction of the Temple, almost definitely by a John other than the Apostle.

As ironic as it may sound, John was written as an argument for Jesus' humanity. That is why we also only find doubting Thomas in this text. This story of Lazarus may also be included to somehow support Jesus' humanity.

I guess you will have to wait a few years and ask him yourself. As for today you can take your pick of legends. LLOJ I guess you are going through your stooge phase - I love it.

Ancient Kition - Larnaca, Cyprus
The city of kition became known as Larnaca due to the many pilgrims travelling there to venerate the relics of Lazarus which were interred in a Larnax or Larnaca in Kition where he was bishop.

Lazarus - OrthodoxWiki
"Little more is known about Lazarus after Our Lord's Resurrection and Ascension except that during his thirty year he never smiled or joked except for one occasion. One day, he saw someone stealing a clay pot and he laughed saying, "the clay steals the clay". "

The Gospel of John declares Christ to be the Son of God. It is the Gospel of Luke that focuses on Christ's humanity. Mark reveals Him as the suffering servant; Matthew, as a King.

This corresponds perfectly with the colors of Moses' Tabernacle in the wilderness. Here in the US we celebrate those same colors; all except for the Kingship of our Maker which we have rejected, after our founding.
