  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What a tough break

Don't you feel sorry for people like this?

linda-evangelista-son-46000-monthly-spending: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance

I wonder how they'd survive on the $184.62 in child support I get every month for two kids?

I have no sympathy for people like that. I can't understand that world, and they would never be able to understand my utmost criticism of their vanity.

They would have to go through what Ken Karpman went through before I would have an inch of sympathy. I have a ton of more sympathy for that beggar in the streets who use good intentions for addictions. I suppose I have more empathy towards the psychological problems those in poverty have to deal with vs. what they rich has to deal with.

To drive my point more home...child support that is more than a ton of people's annual income? Yea...ok.

Ms. Evangelista argues that $46,000 is the minimum required to provide for young Augustin in the manner to which he has

He's four. The manner to which he is accustomed does not require $46,000 and if it does he's young enough to adapt with little fuss.

But then I think about the circles they move in, the amount the father makes compared to the amount being asked for, and I think "meh". It makes sense, he's the child of a billionaire and she's a supermodel, she's not going to ask for the amount most people have to fight to get.

Sympathy? Probably not. It's the same amount of "they did the deed, he should pay an amount that is proportionate to his income and reasonable for the circles the father belongs to" that I have for anyone else in that situation. It may seem like a lot, but that's what you get for being a billionaire and having children with supermodels.

I'm just going to add a few things.

Augustin is a pretty common name in high society, no different from Augustus, August, Austin, Gus, or any other name. It's a very fine name.

I can also see why many young women I know, those who have very little going for them other than their looks, have stated in a not too comical fashion that they plan to be impregnated by someone with a lot of money then chase after as much child support as they can.

Now I have to watch a bit of Gene Wilder Wonka action :|
