West Sumatra Governor Inflated, Asks Minang Language Bible Application Blocked
Suara.com - West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno is inflamed. He asked for minang Bible applications to be deleted. The request was conveyed by Irwan through a letter to the Director General of Information Applications at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
In the letter dated May 28, 2020, Irwan said, the Minang community was very objected and uneasy with the application that can be obtained for free.
Application of the Minang Bible makes a scene, Padang, West Sumatra. The Minang Bible application appears in the Playstore application.
The application was previously able to be downloaded via Playstore. However, when Padangkita.com (Suara.com network) tracked the application on Thursday (6/4/2020), the application was no longer found and was deleted.
The application is considered to be very contradictory to the majority of the Minang people who are Muslim, using customs and culture to philosophize "adat basandi syarak, syariah basandi Kitabullah".
"Through the Directorate General of Informatics Applications we hope that the application will be deleted and prevent the emergence of similar applications in the future," Irwan wrote in the letter.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Padang City, Duski Samad said that the Governor's letter was also the aspiration of the leadership of the Islamic mass organization (Omas) in West Sumatra.
Previously, said Duski, the Padang City MUI together with other Islamic organization leaders had urged the West Sumatra Governor to take steps to remove the application.
"We have talked about it at the level of the leadership of CSOs, and we have also urged the Governor. The Governor has also sent a letter to the Ministry of Communication and Information, that (the application) is dangerous for the integrity of the people, "said Duski when contacted by Padangkita.com via telephone on Thursday (6/4/2020).
He hopes that similar applications will not circulate anymore, and the public is expected to be able to respond intelligently.
"We also hope that followers of other religions will not bring up the things that are final, that Islam in Minangkabau is inherent in its culture," said Duski who is also a professor at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang.
